Little Wishes
I wish that, just once, I would have known the wonder of waking to the stirring of a new life in me... that, just once, a loving man had held me his warm hands on my belly heart filled with awe and tenderness at the little one within me - part of both of us.
I wish that, just once, I could have known the wisdom shared eternally; universaly among those called Mother - worn, torn, and useful aged yet ageless - that, just once, the fear of delivering that new person into this world so strange and complex would have been conquered by that first loud wailing: my Child, greeting me...
