Constraint

We are together again,
in our strange apart kind of way...
Dancing in our skins,
creating that divine heat and sensation
which both of us need so much...
Do you feel anything more
than my body, this embrace?
Do you feel the love I try to
press into you, as our
flesh melds and insinuates -
Some kind of hoping against hope
in our beings, entwined...

That kiss isn't truly mine,
learned lips against me,
your hands caressing and
tracing my contours, as I feel yours...
That almost-affection, given
only in the sheen of ardor -
fading as your lift your body
from my environment
leaving, goodbye - I'll call you...
But I don't hear the ring -
to where do you retreat?
I am here, if only you desired...

We are together again
much the same as we were
in the beginning:  flesh and flesh,
but never mind to mind...
Always, a membrane apart -
other needs concealed, shielded -
I wonder, do you feel those
the same as I do?
Believing that your physical form
is all that you have worthy of giving?
I know there is much more about you,
but you will not let me truly touch...

There is much more about me, too -
but I've never felt you truly reach...
