"If Only" is probably my least popular story (when people in your guestbook say, "I liked all of your stories except "If Only", that's not a good sign...lol). However, I happen to like it. I remember, I was kind of going through a tough time when I wrote this. I had just started a new phase in life, 9/11 happened, and generally it was just a stressful time. When I really listened to the lyrics of Five For Fighting's "Superman", I was amazed at how well they went with Mamoru's character. This was one of those rare stories (or blurbs....since it doesn't really have a plot) that just flow while you're writing them. It's not masterpiece, but I enjoyed writing it!
