Hello! Here it is, Endless Waters 6. This chapter is really, really short. :::sweatdrop::: Sorry about that. Enjoy! Sailor Moon and all characters belong to Naoko Takeuchi, Kodansha, Toei, and lots of other people, but I'm not one of them! But this story belongs to me, so do not do not do not take it! "Endless Waters" by Tess. Chapter 6. Serena let herself get caught up in the feeling she had missed and longed for for such a long time. she thought. She forced herself to pull away and glared at him. "Tell me, Serena," Darien taunted. "Tell me you haven't missed that!" "Of course I've missed that," Serena whispered, the words out of her mouth before she could stop them. "Then why-," Darien began, but Serena interrupted him. She ran out of the room and down the stairs, leaving a bewildered Darien behind her. She stopped at the bottom of the stairs, and crumpled down and sobbed. ********************************************************** Serena entered her room, sniffling and went straight to her suitcase. Katie wasn't there yet. Serena dug until she found what she was looking for: a black, velvety cape from so many years ago. She remembered when her mother had ordered her to throw it away. *Flashback* "Serena, why'd you keep this old thing?," asked Alice Lands. "We don't need anything in this house to remind us of *that* family! Get rid of it at once!" "Oh...I suppose I forgot to throw it away," Serena lied. "Well, I'll take it down to the dumpster." "No! I mean...no. I'll throw it away myself. Don't trouble yourself. I don't want to be reminded of them either." Once her mother left the room, Serena buried the cape in the back of her closet, not being able to bring herself to throw it away. *End Flashback* Serena fell to the floor and pressed the black velvet to her face and a few more tears escaped her eyes. "Why, Darien?," she sobbed. "Why did you have to leave me like you did? I hate you, Darien!" Katie entered the room right as Serena said that last statement. She rushed to Serena and knelt next to her. "Serena! Are you alright?," she asked gently. Serena shook her head and sobbed. "Katie, why? Why did he have to get married? Why did he have to hurt me like that?" Katie's eyes widened. she thought. Katie enveloped her friend in a hug. "Sere, don't worry. You'll find someone. Someone who won't hurt you like he did. You'll find someone else to love." "But I can't! Katie, I love him so much!" Suddenly, they were interrupted by a jolt and the lights flickered for a second. The ship had stopped! Katie and Serena exchanged a glance. "What was that?" "I don't know...maybe we should go check it out..." Serena nodded. She stood up and reached for her purse. "Shoot!," she exclaimed. "I left my purse in the karaoke room! Listen, Katie, I'm going to go get it while you find out what's going on. I'll meet you back in here, ok?" Katie nodded, and they both walked out of the room, Serena heading for the stairwell, Katie for the main outdoor deck. **************************************************** Serena quietly stepped inside the room. Her purse was sitting right on her chair where she had left it. She breathed a sigh of relief, and took it. On her way out, she stopped and looked at the stage where she and Darien had sung. A tear fell, but she brushed it away and shook her head, as if wiping the memory away. She stepped out of the room towards the stairwell and reached for the first knob she felt. She tried turning it, but it wouldn't budge. She looked down and realized there was a set of keys hanging from the knob. she thought. She turned the keys and opened the door. She stifled a scream at the sight before her.... End Chapter 6 Well then, sorry that was sooo incredibly short, but I really wanted to end a chapter with that seen. Oh, here's a thought for ya. I have been on a cruise before, and the stairs weren't behind doors or anything, but for this story to work, they are. So, maybe it's a special cruise line? Anyhoo, hope you liked it. Again, thanks for the positive feedback :) ~*Tess*~
