| LA MON Can I just say I loved this episode. I....LOVE...THIS ...EPISODE. Mister Sperm Donor pageant. Notice the "Darkhorse" candidate is the one who comes through. Darkhorse showing Brian as the only one in all black including his shirt. Is this foreshadowing ?Ohhh , and can I say...I loved that TUX Justin was wearing. Fucking Fabulous! Okay first. Mel , Linz, Michael and the whole baby issue. First off, part of Mel's argument to NOT have Brian as the donor was that Brian was "promiscuous , and who know's whether or not he's positive". Which is a reasonable argument. Yet she decides on the one person who has regular sex with a positive person. Duh...! Then we have the whole "He won't give us any trouble factor. Why...please please tell me WHY does Mel want a kid , wants it with a man she knows and who is a part of her regular circle of friends act so friggin DUMB as to want this same man to have NO emotional attachment to this child. I mean she was counting on Brian not to have any feelings for Gus, but that backfired big time. Now she chooses Michael, who is VERY open with his emotions and his heart, yet she hands him the agreement saying that he has no financial or parental rights. Now you all know how I feel about Michael. But how cruel and unfeeling can you be to someone who obviously has unresolved issues regarding his father, to tell that person that the he is to be nothing more than a donor? Unbelievable. ....Plus her snarky comment about Brian not having a heart bothered me. Not that it was anything new, but that she said it in front of Gus. Even Michael was smart enough to realize ...TWICE ...that there are certain things Gus shouldn't hear. I have come to a new conclusion that Michael is not the dumbest person on the show. It's Melanie. The woman is a regular box of rocks. Second . Emmett and Ted. I can't say too much on this because we have seen the whole "When your Mate Moves In " storyline. But ooohhhh are they so cute together. Third. I'm bothered that the only person who notices the subtle changes in Ben is Vic. of course he would as another HIV positive man. But he would as another positive gay man, who has been through all the emotions that Ben is going through. Now let's get to the meat and potatoes. Let me ask you guys. Does Claire realize how OLD her kid is? Did she really need a sitter?Ohhh well, if Claire wasn't stupid, then we'd have no story. Okay, basically the kids an asshole. He has obviously learned his attitudes at home . Like my mom always said.."Follow a stupid kid home , and see who answers the door". In the elevator .This scene was hot to me in the screener. But they changed the music...okay I admit it. I love slutty Brian getting his freak on.Of course he was interrupted by the cop. When Horvath comes to tell Deb and Justin is there, I love how Justin immediately defends Brian. We all know the charge is bullshit. But what I love most is Gale's performance in his scene with the "Kinney women". Fucking fabulous. PERIOD! Nothing else to be said. If you ever wondered why Brian is the way he is, just watch this scene. Joanie's sanctimonious self-righteousness turns me completely against the pathetic woman I saw in 209. It's amazing that Brian has any feelings at all. Especially after growing up with that. It also shows how you can be a family and not know anything about each other. It's amazing Claire talks about the permanent damage that may have been done to him, when all the damage is obviously done in that house. What it also points out is not just the evil of the accusation that can be devastating to ones life. But also the way that society has this intense need to to put gay Men and Pedophile in the same category. On to Brian and Justin. I love how Justin and Brian speak to each other in the diner without any hostility or reservations. I also love how Justin is the one who goes to help Brian. He doesn't sit back passively and complain. He seeks a way to help. Just as the situation with Kip. This is ..FOR ME...another expression of what is between the two of them. Whether together or not, they are obviously going to do their best to look out for each other. The return of the bracelet. This scene wasn't so sad, as it was bittersweet and somewhat poignant. The obvious sexual tension and affection is very evident. The way Brian looks at Justin as he puts the bracelet on. FOR ME...the look of longing in his eyes says everything. The "Shouldn't you be getting back to your boyfriend" comment....ohhh such foreshadowing..I love it. The way they keep at least one hand behind their backs while together. And the best part of this episode.... NO ETHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the bastards changed the end music from the screener. Which was MUCH better. So Tell me what you think! |
