QaF - episode 301!
Watched the show and then went to chat with Hal Sparks. Very amused here. He's usually an ass and tries too hard to be funny, but he actually succeeded tonight. He was sorta cute. :)

(And to think that I *adore* Mikey - for the most part - and do not really like Hal at all...)

Anyway, the show was a bit anti-climatic for me, since I already knew most of what was going to happen.

The show starts in black and white, with the infamous Mikey-punch, which was a rather nice effect. You know right away that this is sort of a "flashback" and then you have Mikey's voice-over telling you that "it all started about a week ago, after the Rage Party."

We go back to the Rage party (season 2 finale) and see everyone dancing and having a good time. Teddy and Emmett are there, being cute with each other *gag* and the lesbians are encouraging this disaste-err, I mean, they're encouraging the new relationship *gag*

Michael tells them that he needs to find Brian because he and Justin just broke up. Lindsay is surprised and can hardly believe it. (Which I thought was sort of weird, since it seemed rather clear that *everyone* had seen Justin take off with Ethan...)

Mikey goes outside (with Ben) looking for Brian, and they see him take off in his jeep.

Justin wakes up to Ethan's violin music. Ethan says something cute about 'serenading him in the morning' and then Justin asks for his promised breakfast in bed. He gets dark chocolate and a rose on a little tray. (Yay. I'm not the only one who thinks chocolate is good for breakfast.)

Ethan gives him the little line they kept showing on the previews: "I can't believe you're actually here. I can't believe we spent the night together...etc, etc." Justin tells him he has to go to work and to pick up his stuff from Brian's and assures Ethan he has nothing to worry about, because even if Brian is at his apartment, it doesn't chance the fact they're over. Justin is now with Ethan.

Justin goes to the loft to pick up his stuff and while he's doing that, has flashbacks of him and Brian and everything they did - in the bed, the shower, the chaise. (There are playbacks of shower scenes, as well as that lovely ice cream scene from season 1.)

In the meantime, everyone's at the diner, having breakfast. (They had toned that down a bit in season 2, and now they're back to the "everyone eats together at the diner" from season 1.)

Melanie and Lindsay are asking Ted and Emmett for details about their night together; asking about who was top and who was bottom and being quite obnoxious. Mikey has no clue as to what is going on, (since he's been too worried about Brian to notice that Ted/Emmett are 'together'.)

Then Mel and Lind pull out some invitations for their anniversary party. (not their wedding anniversary, just a date they celebrate - when they first got together.) They don't know what they're going to do with the invitation for Justin and Brian and say something along the lines that they will probably still come - just not together.

Ted and Emmett make some jokes about Brian getting dumped by Justin and Melanie seems to gloat a bit over it. Debbie adds her two cents about how Justin really loved Brian. Lindsay says that Brian really loved Justin, too. They're all going on about the Brian/Justin breakup when Brian appears on screen.

He's apparently been sitting at the diner all along, listening to their conversation.

(He's wearing a gray suit, much like the one he wore in season 1 - when he drove Justin to school. And he looked *gorgeous*! I think Gale lost a few pounds - the extra ones he was carrying in season 2! - and is back to looking his best.)

Brian says he now knows who his friends are. Mikey rushes to sit with him and asks if he's okay. Brian replies, very nonchalant, that he's "brilliant". Justin walks in the diner and Mikey gets all worked up about it. Brian remains cool.

Mikey goes outside while Justin is taking out the trash and starts whining and telling him to go away. Justin tells him that he's working, and why is he watching him while he's dumping the trash. Mikey tells him that he's very good at dumping things and starts giving him the lecture about being ungrateful to Brian. Justin tells Mikey that he'd wanted him gone from the first night Brian took him back to his place, and that he finally got his wish. He tells him that he can have Brian all to himself.

Of course, Mikey has to throw in that Justin should quit the diner and disappear from their lives - to make it easier on everyone.

Ted and Emmett walk start talking about their night together and it turns out they didn't actually have sex. They just fell asleep - in the same bed, and joke about how 'technically', they did sleep with each other, so they didn't actually lie to anyone.

Ben is trying to get his apartment back, since he's not going to Tibet, but he can't. So Mikey asks him to move in with him. Ben seems a little hesitant at first and wonders if they're ready for such a commitment. Mikey tells him they're already committed.

Emmett walks in and Mikey breaks the news to him, telling him that Ben is going to live with them. Emmett says that's too many people in very little space, but that he likes it that way.

Mikey asks him about Ted and him and tells him he cannot imagine having sex with your best-friend. (Yeah, okay. Like he's never thought about having sex with Brian! I was actually hoping Emmett would say something about that. He didn't.) Instead, he just tells Mikey and Brian that it just 'happened'. (When in fact, nothing really happened.)

Brian walks into his loft and finds the drawer where Justin used to keep his clothes empty. He looks at the closet and realizes that Justin's clothes are gone. He picks up a sock that Justin left behind.

(Kudos go to Gale for being such a wonderful actor! He pulls this scene off beautifully. It's full of emotion and very intense, but there's no melodrama at all. He doesn't say a word but we can almost see what he's thinking/feeling just by looking at his eyes/facial expressions.)

Ted and Emmett are at Teddy's place, trying to have sex. Ted has a bunch of vibrators and a cool lights and all kinds of ridiculous preparations for their 'first time together'. Emmett comes out in a robe, being all coy and very unlike himself. Ted reminds him that he's seen him jerking off before. And Emmett says something like "Yeah, but that was work. This is you and me. I wanted it to be pure... blah, blah."

(Sorry to anyone who might like Ted/Emmett, but I was cringing in this scene. I enjoy the sex scenes in the show, but this was not one I was looking forward to see! *shudder*)

Luckily, they didn't get it on! ^______^ Emmett asked if they would still be friends if their relationship didn't work out, and that seems to cool Teddy off. So they get out of bed and get dressed. (Yay!)

Later they go to a bar (I think Woody's). Brian's there too and he doesn't seem to be having a very good night. He smiles at some guy, who apparently has already found someone else. Immediately, some guys start making fun of the 'top homo in Pittsburgh' and how they never thought they would see the day when Brian Kinney got rejected. Emmett and Ted overhear this conversation and get annoyed. They decide to go and sit with Brian so maybe he will insult them a little and start feeling better.

They run into Debbie and Vic and they hear a story about how Vic got together with his best-friend, Carlos and how the relationship didn't last. Emmett and Ted get a bit uncomfortable with this. Vic tells them not to listen to Debbie and how he's sure they will be just fine.

Ben has moved in with Mikey and they're going on about how Ben has too many clothes and how Mikey's closet is too small, and how they might not be able to fit everything in. Somehow their playful little argument leads them to bed. They start taking off their clothes - when Brian walks in on them.

He entered Mikey's place with his own key - and Mikey tells him that key is for emergencies! To which Brian replies "This is an emergency. If I don't find someone to go with me to Babylon, I'm going to die."

Mikey tells him to leave, that this is Ben's first night at the apt. and he can't leave him.

Ben tells Mikey to go with Brian, because he looks like he needs a friend. Then he adds something about how he'd need a friend if he ever lost Mikey.

(Have I mentioned how much I adore Ben?)

Mikey goes to Babylon with Brian. They dance. Brian gets trashed. Mikey tells Brian that he has to go home, because Ben's waiting for him. Brian doesn't want him to go. He tells him that it's just the two of them - just like old times. They kiss, and unfortunately, Mikey falls for it.

It's a little sad to see he's still carrying that torch. (And even sadder to see that Brian uses that, and manipulates Mikey the way he does.)

Justin goes to Mel and Lindsay's, to give them a gift for their anniversary. They ask him to stay, but he says he can't; Ethan's waiting for him.

They tell him that they're still his friends and they love him as much as they do Brian. (Mel says "More!") They tell him they expect to see him at their party and he can give them his gift then.

Debbie's cooking for the anniversary party and Mikey's helping her. He complains that the sauce for the lasagna has no meat, and how this is lesbian lasagna. Debbie's going on about how Justin quit the diner and how she didn't get to see him. Mikey tells him that he's glad Justin's gone and that it was him who told him to disappear from their lives. Debbie gets pissed and tells Mikey to mind his own business and how he had no right to say that to Justin. She then adds that Brian can't really love anyone - including Mikey himself.

Fast-forward to the party, because I'm getting sleepy. *g*

Justin shows up with Ethan and is feeling awkward. Doesn't say hello to Debbie. She calls him over and yells at him for not showing any manners. She tells him to get back to the diner and that she will be waiting for him first thing in the morning. She also forces him to introduce Ethan to her and calls him "Sunshine" in front of him. Ethan laughs at that. Debbie tells him that he's adorable.

Party's going well. Though of course, Mikey has a problem with Justin being there and can't believe he brought his new boyfriend with him.

Brian shows up with a leather-clad couple. Mel and Lindsay act surprised - since apparently Brian had told them he would not attend.

Brian goes upstairs to the bathroom and walks right in while Justin's taking a leak. (Didn't anyone teach Brian how to knock? First Ben and Mikey. Now Justin...)

Brian goes and stands right next to Justin. Justin complains and tells him to wait until he's done. Brian says he doesn't have to wait - because he's seen him before.

Justin walks away and Brian just turns around and tells him that he hopes he can get what he wants.

(I thought that was a lovely scene. Brian seems very sincere, very civile about the whole thing - and his feelings for Justin are loud and clear. Too bad Justin can't see that. ;)

Brian goes back out to the garden and Mikey starts running his mouth about how ungrateful Justin is and how he cannot believe he showed up with Ethan. He tells Brian it would have been better if he let him die. =/ (I can't believe Mikey actually said that!) Brian punches him.

Debbie freaks out and calls Brian an animal for hitting her son. Ben goes after Brian and almost hits him. Everyone's pissed at Brian and looking at him like he's some sort of wild beast. (Obviously, they didn't hear what Mikey was saying. Talk about beasts. ;)

Melanie and Lindsay ask Brian to leave the party.

Later, Brian goes to the comic book store to see Mikey (who now has a black eye. But in the previews, it looked as though if Brian hit him right in the jaw...) Brian brings Mikey a white box with a red ribbon. Mikey asks if it's a make-up gift and then realizes the box is full of blood.

Brian tells him it's prime steak and that he can put it in his eye and then eat. Then he tries to kiss Mikey, but Mikey tells him to stop it.

Mikey asks if Brian wants to go to the diner and get something to eat, but Brian says no, he has plans.

His plans? A trick. Only, it's not his usual trick.

A blond boy (who looks almost *exactly* like Justin!) shows up at his door and asks if he's what Brian had been looking for. Brian replies "Close enough." The boy says that the charge is $300 and he wants the money first.

Brian pays and takes him back to his bedroom. They get undressed and the boy tries to kiss him, but Brian tells him to turn around. He starts caressing his blond hair and then fucks him.

End.

Wow - the rumors of the Justin-look-alike whore had been floating around since season 2 ended, and I was *really* hoping they would not be true.

It's almost pathetic to see Brian paying for sex... but at the same time, it's *very* Brian. Ironically, it shows how much he cares for Justin.

There was also a scene where Lindsay tells Brian that it's not too late to get Justin back, to tell him that he loves him. Brian replies that he's not going to change and that even *if* he did care for Justin, he would not bring him back. He wants Justin to find what he wants, what he needs - and he knows that he cannot find that with him. So Brian's letting him go.

I've been reading comments about how much of an asshole Brian is and I really don't understand why anyone would think that. He's being nothing but graceful about the whole thing.

I love Justin, but I think he's the one who looks like a prick. ^_~ Afterall, he did know who Brian was, and from the beginning, he knew what he was getting himself into.

I waited 9 whole months for the show... and I'm so glad it's finally back. ^_^
