| COURTESY CHARLEY Episode 217 Leaving Babylon, Justin and Brian exit together and Brian tells Justin that he wants to fuck Justin all night long. They share a kiss before Justin asks if Brian ever gets enough, which we all know the answer to. NO! Justin suggests they save their lovin for that weekend. Brian suggests they save it until they get to the car. Justin says then that he wants to go away with Brian for the weekend and says they should go snowboarding in Vermont. Daphne and her boyfriend just came back and Daphne told him about how awesome it was. They stayed in this old converted farmhouse where every room had a Jacuzzi. Brian makes a mocking comment and Justin gives up, saying he forgot that Brian Kinney doesnt do romance. Brian replies that he doesnt need an excuse to fuck. Justin replies that Brian also doesnt need an excuse to turn him down. If Brian doesnt want to go away with him then just say it. Fine, Brian replies. I dont want to go away with you for the weekend. A hurt Justin starts to way away, saying that at least that is out in the open. Brian yells after Justin that he wants to go away with Justin for the whole week. Justin doesnt believe him and Brian jokes that he will just find some one else to go away with then. Brian starts stopping strangers on the street, asking them if they want to go away with him to Vermont. The men ignore him and Brian declares that its just him and Justin then. Justin is thrilled and asks if Brian really means it. Brian does. Hes about to make partner at the agency and Justin is off on Spring Break. No better way to celebrate than a week of snowboarding and doing each other senseless. An ecstatic Justin starts to kiss Brian and they fall back against the car together, making out. How cute! Mel is doing paperwork in bed when Lindsay joins her, having just put Gus down for the night. Mel starts to give Lindz a massage. Leda interrupts to say shes finished the flooring of the attic and then leaves them alone. Mel and Lindz start to make out, but both are so exhausted that they fall asleep instead. At the diner, with Brian, Emmett, Ted, and Michael. Em is balancing his checkbook and hes broke. He went shopping earlier and spent way too much money. Ted lends Emmett the money to cover his most recent purchases. A cute guy walks by and cruises Brian. Ted assumes that Brian has already done the guy and asks for details. Brian gives them, going in depth, but I think hes exaggerating just a bit! LOL! Melanie arrives and Ted says they should can the sex talk in the presence of the lesbian. Michael, having previously endured Mel and Lindzs description of their sex life, says that Mel shouldnt mind the talk. The girls are sex machines after all, right. Mel says theyre not. Theyre both working and trying to raise a baby and renovating the house. Theyve lost the spark in their sex lives. Ted declares that it is Lesbian Bed Death. Mel doesnt like the idea, the guys torment her with descriptions of L.B.D. until she leaves. Brians at work and his assistant Cynthia is straightening his clothes as they walk to a meeting with his boss Ryder. They both assume hes about to be made partner and Cynthia is thrilled--that means she gets to be bitchy to the other office workers and get away with it. Brian goes into Ryders office and is dealt a shocking surprise-- Ryder has just sold the agency to a man named Gardner Vance. Brian congratulates Ryder on that but asks what about himself. Ryder promised him that if he had another good year that Ryder would make him partner. Its time to own up to that promise. Ryder says that Brian is important to the agency and the new boss will know that. Ryder will be sure to tell Vance all about Brian Brian isnt too pleased with the latest development. Emmett and Michael are at the ATM where Em is depositing the money he borrowed from Ted. Em gets his new balance and its now over ten million dollars! Michael thinks it must be some type of printing error by the machine. Emmett tests Mikeys theory and tries to withdraw a few hundred dollars. He does so with no problems. Mel, Lindsay, and Leda are talking about the theory of L.B.D. Leda says its bull, they just need to spice up their lives a little. Try something new and different. Michael and Ted are at the bar at Woodys when Justin joins them. Hes looking at brochures for Bed And Breakfasts in Vermont. Brian arrives then and Justin is still on cloud nine, talking about the trip. It will be the first time he and Brian have gone away together. Ted asks Brian if its such a good idea to leave town now, after his company has just been bought out. Brian replies that they need him more than he needs them. Emmett arrives, offering to buy everyone drinks and repaying Ted the money he borrowed earlier. Michael tells Ted and Justin about the ten million in Emmetts bank account. Ted is horrified that Emmett with- drew the money and spent some without reporting it to the bank. Em has just committed bank fraud, which is a federal offense. Em starts to freak, asking what he should do. Ted tells him that they will visit the bank first thing tomorrow and give the money back. Brian arrives at work to find that his new boss is already changing the appearance of the offices and has changed the name to Vanguard Advertising. Brian goes in to meet with the man and sees his fellow executives leaving the office looking like theyve all just been fired. Perhaps because they have just been! Brian meets Vance, whos English, by the way. (That has absolutely nothing to do with the plot, just thought Id mention it because I like his accent!) Vance says that Ryder told him that Brian was his best exec and Brian says thats because he is the best. Vance replies that he has fired all the others then and Brian makes a snide remark about now hell have a shorter line at the water cooler. Vance adds that Ryder also told him that Brian was arrogant, insubordinate, and willful. Brian agrees with that, too. He is. Vance suggests that Brian give him a reason not to fire Brian, too. Brian answers that he knows the company and has a relationship with the clients. Vance doesnt. If Brian goes, the clients will go, too. Besides, Brian has and will continue to work his ass off for the company, more so than some newbie Vance brings in. Vance responds that he has already done his research about the company and its clients, whom he has also been in touch with. They assure him that they will stay on with or without Brian in charge of their accounts. So does Brian have another reason why he shouldnt be fired? Brian says he cant think of any other reason then and starts to leave the office. As hes walking out the door, Vance calls after him, saying that Brian has one week to prove to Vance that hes worth keeping. That long? Brian asks, doing a great job of sounding unfazed. Vance adds the parting shot, saying that hes also heard the rumor that Brian is gay. Is that true. Brian turns back to face him then, assuring that it is true. But unless hes fucking Vance, then its none of Vances business. Ted and Emmett go to the back together and Em is really nervous. Ted tries to soothe the waters, saying that Emmett made a mistake. Alls well that ends well, right? The bank teller says that they have to see the manager and Em starts to panic. Ted tries to tell him to stay calm, but once in the managers office, Emmett breaks down and confesses to taking the money. They bank manager says that it wasnt a clerical error that had the money deposited in Emmetts account. The money was put there by George Schickel. Bank Manager also gives Emmett a videotape that George has left him. Emmett is stunned speechless. At work, Brian and Cynthia are desperately researching Vance to try and find something that Brian can do to impress him. Cynthia finds an article written about Vance once where Vance admits that the only account that he really wanted and was unable to get was Brown Athletics. Brian gets up to leave, telling Cynthia that he is going to visit a few of his old tricks. Cynthia yells that he cant be serious about screwing around *now*! Hes going to fuck them both out of a job! Mel and Lindz go to a cheap motel to rent a room and spice up their sex lives. Lindz isnt too into the idea because the place is so sleazy. They start to make out anyhow, but get disturbed by the loud, hot sex in the next room. They turn on the TV to drown out the sounds and flip through the porn channels. They settle on a cooking show that Lindsay likes and end up watching it instead. At their apartment, Emmett and Michael and Ted are watching the tape that George has left Emmett. George says that he always admired Emmetts fuck em all attitude. But to do that Em also needs fuck em all money. That is why George had the ten million deposited into Emmetts account. George says that Em made him happier than Em will ever know. Ted adds that ten million is a pretty clear indication of just how happy! Brian has arranged a hasty photo shoot with some of his hottest tricks and, yes, they are hot! He has them photographed wearing Brown Athletic merchandise. Cynthia comes in them and gives Brian his airline ticket, but says he wont need it since she called Brown Athletics and they wont see Brian. Should she cancel his flight? Emmett has all the gang--except Brian--at his place and he is giving them gifts that he has bought for them. He got Lindz and Mel an SUV. He plans to send Justin to Italy for the summer to see the masters and their artwork. And, while Justin and Brian are in Italy, Brian can pick up his new Armani. Justin says that Brian will love a new suit, but Em explains that hes getting Brian the entire fall collection! Em gives Debbie a diamond bracelet. For Michael, he has paid the mortgage on the comic book store for the next five years! Ted gets two lifetime seats at the opera and may be find someone to share them with someday. All of Ems friends are touched by his generosity. And, for himself, Em has bought a full-length mink coat. Lindz goes down to the kitchen to fix herself a sandwich late at night and bumps into Leda. Lindz tells about the disaster of the hotel room. They start to laugh and talk and Leda gives Lindsay a back rub. Mel comes down the stairs then and sees Leda and Lindz on the couch together. Mel is jealous. At the loft, Brian is packing his suitcases while Justin tells him about Emmetts gift. Brians not very interested in the conversation or his new Armani collection. Justin notices then that Brian is packing his work clothes and asks why hes taking a tie to go snowboarding in. Brian answers then that hes going to Chicago on business, not to Vermont on vacation. Justin gets angry and says to fuck business. Brian shots back that Justin has been fucking business. Brians business, his work, pays the bills. It pays for snowboarding and the loft. It pays for Justin to go to the Pittsburgh Institute of Fine Arts. (Low blow there, Kinney, since *you* were the one who made that offer and was so insistent on Justin taking your money for school.) Brian adds that if he doesnt go on this trip then he will be collecting unemployment in his new Armani collection. Brian leaves. Leda is working on the attic when Mel joins her. Mel lets her jealousy about Lindz and Leda show. Mel wants Leda to leave. Justin is at Michaels apartment and Michael is eating cereal for breakfast. And holding his spoon and shoveling food into his mouth like hes five years old. Michael wants Justin to eat, too, because hes too thin. Justin is not really hungry. Michael points to the cereal box and says he has this dream of one day seeing Rage on a box of cereal with action figures inside. Anything can happen, Michael insists. Except for Brian wanting to spend time with him, Justin sadly puts in. Michael tries to make him feel better, assuring him that Brian would have preferred spending a week in Vermont with Justin, but this was business. He had no choice. Justin says that Brian is already a huge success at his work, he has everything. A great job, money, a loft. What more does he want? Michael says that Brian also wants to be the best at everything. If he loses his job, then he will have to start over at a new firm. Justin asks what about him, though. Where does he fit into Brian Kinneys life. Justin doesnt want to have to wait for Brian to make time for him. He wants a boyfriend who wants to be with him. Who wants to spend time alone with him once in awhile. Who gets jealous if some other guy is sucking his dick right in front of him. Michael replies that that isnt who Brian is. He will never be that person. In Chicago, Brian is at the Brown Athletics offices where Mr. Browns male assistant refuses to let Brian see Brown. Brian shows the man the pics of his new ads and Assistant likes. Brian suggests that they go make copies. Cut to Brian fucking the assistant on the copy machine. Assistant tells Brian where Brown is having lunch at. Brian at the restaurant, seeing Mr. Brown at his table and walking up and joining the man. Brown doesnt like the invasion and threatens to have Brian thrown out. Brian suggests a bottle of Dom instead since they will soon be celebrating Browns new ad campaign. Brown says that if Brian is there to tell him he needs more trendy merchandise than Brian is wasting both of their time. Brian isnt. Browns merchandise should remain what it is, but they need more heat to their campaign, Brian suggests as he shows Brown the ads he had created. Brown says that there is no heat in T-shirts and baseball caps. Brian agrees, there isnt. But its his job to make buyers *think* there is. Brian suggests running the ads in all the major magazines and gear a campaign towards the gay consumer. Brown is interested in the hearing more of Brians ideas. Debbie is waiting on the customers at the diner and showing off her bracelet. Emmett in his mink comes in with his shopping bags. Em says that its all becoming empty to him now. Hed rather have George instead of the money. But hes decided do something to honor George. Hes going to open the George Schickel Home For Gay And Lesbian Youth. Michael, Ted, and Debbie are proud of him and say that George would be, too. A man comes in at that moment and serves Emmett with papers. The Schickel family is contesting the estate and has just had all of Ems accounts frozen. Lindz and Mel are arguing over Leda. Leda comes in the room and says she is sorry for causing them problems. She will leave. Mel feels bad and stops her, saying that theyre friends and Lindz agrees that she doesnt want it to be this way. Leda comes over to give them a little kiss good-bye, suddenly the girls are involved in a three-way with Leda. Vance is at his desk when Brian comes in and gives him a bill for his trip to Chicago. Vance looks at the bill in disbelief as Brian starts to dial a phone number and hands the phone to Vance, telling him to say hello to his newest clients--Brown Athletics. Vance talks to Mr. Brown who is raving about Brian. Vance hangs up the phone and asks Brian how Brian knew about the Brown accounts and Brian replies that he just did his research. Vance offers Brian a cigar, but Brian wants more than that. Brown signed on for a two-year contract, but with one stipulation . . . Only if Brian is made full partner of the agency. A happy Brian strolls into the loft, a bottle of champagne in hand as he calls out, Hey, Sunshine, come congratulate me. Your partner just made partner. No one answers and Brian calls out again, but the loft is empty. Michael, Ted, and Emmett are going into Babylon together and Em is asking to borrow money from Ted again. Brian shows up then and they tease him about looking familiar, like a guy they used to know but who now works so much they never see him. Brian tells them to shut up and greets Mikey with a kiss. Hes grinning from ear to ear and asks them where Justin is. The guys look at him oddly before telling him that Justin isnt there. Brian asks where he is then, he has something big he wants to tell Justin. Mikey says that Justin went to Vermont to go snowboarding. Brian is taken back by that and asks if Justin went alone. He did. Brian reaches for a cigarette as Ted asks him what his big news is. Brian says its nothing as he turns to leave. He walks down the alley alone, looking back once as if expecting Justin to be there, but hes on his own this night. |
