Mediums Destroyed: 3 Oh, you bet. He drew close until his hot breath tickled her ear, He's going to kill you for me. Kira struggled fiercely; burning tears streaming down her face. Bakura cackled, Let me guess. You're thinking oh, my dear sweet loving boyfriend would never do anything to hurt me. You couldn't be more wrong. The darkness wants Seto to become one of its followers. You're going to make it happen. Kira didn't have time to comprehend, because that was the second the videophone sprang to life, and Seto caught the first glimpse of his bound and gagged lover. KIRA! Seto called desperately. The vision of him holding her before the Blue Eyes tablet flashed before his eyes. Bakura knelt before the monitor. She looks cute, doesn't she? All in bondage like that? BAKURA! Seto was so angry the veins exploded from his forehead, his screams loud enough to frighten the employees six floors down. If you let her go right now Ill consider killing you quickly! Youre hardly in the position to be making threats, Bakura chided. Setos fist squeezed the receiver so tightly it looked like it was about to break, but he said nothing. Now I know youve been carrying your deck around with you ever since I sliced up your precious card. Take it out. He complied, but none too friendly. After all, he found the thief who defiled his Blue Eyes, and he could do nothing for fear of loosing Kira. All he could think about was the vision, which was most likely a warning for him not to repeat past mistakes. Seto would not play risks with her in danger. Kira he thought as his searched behind Bakuras head to where she was trembling on the loveseat, her beautiful eyes swelling with tears. Show me the two Blue Eyes, Bakura ordered. Seto muttered a curse as he drew the cards from his deck. Tear them up. He glanced once again to Kira, who was thrashing wildly. Seto could almost hear her pleading. Kira wouldnt want him to devastate his beloved creature. She knew he would not be able to cope with the loss. Kira or the Blue Eyes, Seto? Bakura chanted. Blue Eyes was his loyal servant. It was the one who inherited his pride and his soul. Kira was the light that kept him from darkness. She was the one who gave herself, her love to him unconditionally. In the end, Seto rationalized. Who would I give up everything for? He clenched his eyes shut, doing everything in his power to halt the flow of tears as he ripped a piece of him in half. Seto pried his lips open, hoping his quaking voice wouldnt break when he demanded she be set free. However, he was halted by Kiras scream. It was louder, so much louder, than the day she was dueling Yuugi. Her body was in a spasm. Kiras lifeless eyes reached for him as her convulsions suddenly ceased. Kira? Kira? Seto stretched his arm to her, as if he could hold her through the screen. Wake up! You killed her, Bakura howled. You killed her! What happened next happened too fast for even Seto to follow. Pure white light consumed the monitor, ceasing Bakuras insane laugher. It penetrated the videophone, leaving Seto to scream for Kira through endless static. Where am I? Kira wondered aloud as she found herself floating through palpable mist. Well, it was the only option available to her, considering there was no surface for her to walk upon. There wasnt a sky, either. It was nothingness, something a human such as her could never understand. Suddenly, a shape snaked its way through the haze. The Blue Eyes White Dragon hovered before her, seeming to protect her within its gigantic wingspan. Kira could only stare in awe as its shimmering blue eyes, so much like her own, tore into her soul. She found herself caressing its muzzle, her mind at peace despite the desperateness of her situation. Do not fear me, Kira gasped as her own voice shot through her mind. It was a more commanding version of her voice, and the speaker spoke with words of silk. Still, it was her voice. Wrenching herself from the now-illuminated Blue Eyes, she was helpless to watch the dragon transform into a mirror image of her. The Kira before her wore a flowing white dress, and held herself with no small amount of dignity. She was so graceful that her dainty movements flowed like water. Kira raised her hand to her twin, and like a reflection, the other Kira touched her hand to hers. It has been too long, the mirror Kira greeted Kira just shook her head, unable to form words to the questions that boggled her. I am the one known as the Blue Eyes White Dragon, she smiled. Youll have to forgive me transforming on you. However, I find this form far less intimidating and far more easy to communicate with. HowWhy? Why am I why are you? I suppose this is a lot to ingest at once, Kira. Please be patient with me. I will explain everything to you. Kira nodded dumbly. Three thousand years ago, she began. There was a girl who walked in the Egyptian sands. She was doomed to be an outcast all of her years, because she looked so different from the children of the Nile. Unknown, even to her, she housed the spirit of a god. The god grew strong off the girls strength, her will to live. You are a reincarnation of that girl, Kira. In your past life, you were the vessel of a god. I was? Yes. The girl was you, and she ran into trouble in the city one day. The frightened villagers believed her to be a curse, and stoned her nearly to death. But a priest who served the Pharaoh saved her. You know him as a man named Seto. Seto The priest learned that girl not only housed a god, but that god was her soul itself. You see, in order to summon the god, the girl had to be unconscious. She and the god were one and the same, flesh and soul. The soul is I. I am the god, the White Dragon that you housed. We are one being, Kira. You and I will always be connected. Then why are we apart? If we are one, then how can we be separated? It happened a while after the past versions of you and Seto met, the Soul of the White Dragon explained. You fell in love with each other. Then, tragedy struck. You died, and Seto was left to wander the Earth alone. Masaka... That was when you made your decision. You wanted to protect Seto with my strength. I was entrapped within a stone tablet, and your soul went to the place it was meant to be. In those brief periods between your lifetimes, we were one creature in this Realm of the Gods. Then, you, the Flesh of the White Dragon would separate from our whole. You went to be with Setos lives on Earth. I remained here, where I could be summoned at anytime through a medium. A medium? There were five at one point in history. The first was the tablet in which I was originally trapped. A man named Pegasus J. Crawford created the other four. They were mediums in the form of the cards. That was when I came to be known as the Blue Eyes White Dragon, instead of Shiroki Ryuu. You know that all of those mediums have been destroyed, dont you? Thats because you felt it, as I did. I felt the mediums being destroyed? We are always connected, Kira. Even when we are separated, we feel each others pain. The destruction of the mediums is very painful for me. You suffered as well. You also felt my summoning; I believe that you called the minor pain associated with it a calling. Then, if I was ever destroyed during a duel, you felt that as well. Thats what caused my condition? It wasnt the Solid Vision? No. That is a coincidence. So those times I passed out were when a medium was destroyed, right? I mean, Ive fainted five times, and you said there were five mediums. Thats correct. You fainted because your gentle spirit needed time to recuperate. One time was when the darkness that controlled Seto tore up Sogorokus Blue Eyes. The next was when Bakura snuck into Kaiba Corp., and the last two where when Seto tore them up because Bakura threatened to kill me. Wait thats four. What happened to the last? The last, believe it or not, was the first time you fainted. A servant of darkness snuck into the Ishtars home and obliterated the tablet. You see, the darkness abhors us. It will do anything to get rid of us. That is why it went through such great lengths. So the darkness is controlling Bakura? Bakura made a deal with a great enemy of ours. Oh. Bakuras side of the bargain was to kill you and destroy all of the remaining mediums. He believed that when all of them had been destroyed, that you would die as well, so he focused on that task. So? Kira gulped, I have died? No. He underestimated you. You survived the shock. I called for your unconscious to join me here, in the Realm of the Gods. Thats all. I see Kira, she clasped their hands together. All of the mediums, the obstacles between us becoming one again, are gone. Its time for the Soul and Flesh of the White Dragon to join as a single being. Kira nodded and smiled, Im ready. Ill protect you from Bakura, in case he realizes that you havent quite died. I can do that now You should wake up by the time Seto comes to your rescue. Why? Dont I usually take longer to get better? I can give strength to you, Kira. Just as you provide strength for me Kiras eyelids fluttered open to the feel of someones arms wrapping around her. A tear ran down her check as she was greeted by Setos concerned face. Before he even realized shed awakened, Kira snaked her arms about his neck. To his shock, she repeated his name, over and over. It felt so good to be in his arms again. Kira Seto kissed her full heartedly. How? There was this light, and then... He gestured about the study. The videophone, along with all of the other mechanical gadgets, had been demolished. Nearly all of the books had been thrown from the bookshelves, the furniture toppled over. She shook her head, and he kissed away her tears. It didnt matter. It was all over now. All over now All Mediums Have Been Destroyed To Be Concluded
