WWE Day Of Reckoning: (GAMECUBE) (9/9/04) GRAPHICS-Best looking of the series, as should be. Every Wrestler except for a couple look the part. GAMEPLAY-Is a hybrid of the Smackdown and No Mercy engine. There are grapple and no grapple moves with strong and weak grapples. BEST FEATURE- -Very deep and detailed caw mode. -Very deep and detailed CAE mode. -Very smooth animations. WORST FEATURE- -No caw entrance attire. -No stable feature for caws. -Default wrestlers special meter charges too quickly. -Season mode is very linear. -Belts are only worn during SOHK. -Non standard height system. One has to experiment to get the desired height. IN A NUTSHELL-The best of the series. Opting for a career mode this outing, the School of hard Knocks is a great idea that was executed improperly. After beating the mode once, there really isn't any reason to play through again. Like stated, the move animations and counters are a thing of beauty. While there are many improvements, the game has taken some steps backwards as well. IMO, there aren't enough new features to warrant a purchase if you already own WM19 but if you do not, wait for the price to drop below $30.00, Monk.... Score: 8.1/10 |
