GRAPHICS-The character model graphics are nicely done, they are over the top, larger than life and they fit perfectly within this game. The crowd graphics are nothing too impressive, but then again, who actually cares about the crowd, still they serve their purpose well and do the job at hand.
GAMEPLAY- Ahh, Gameplay, the bread and butter of all good Wrestling Games, well, Acclaim has a definite winner on their hands with LOW. The engine is something new and fresh, the engine is simple enough for pick up and play, yet it�s deep enough for Wrestling Video Game vets to enjoy as well with the branching/linking system that is employed. One gets a feeling of �real� Wrestling with LOW, it�s the counters and move sets that are impressive.
I love the way reversals are handled, and once one has the timing down pat, he/she can elect to turn off all on screen indicators which will only add to the professional feeling of this game. While nothing major, but still something that adds to the overall package is the ability to customize entrance taunts, something new and �fresh�. This is only the second game where I have seen attempts to actually get to the ropes (GG2K) and not just SLIDE in the direction. I see a hybrid of many games in LOW, which is good. The CAL is nicely done, nothing too extravagant, nothing watered down, I have made a perfect creation of my CAW from previous games, and he looks just as good on here as does other games, then again he�s not too hard to make. One of my personal favorite features is the ability to motion your tag partner in (NJPW4) for the double team, I Love that feature.
BEST FEATURE- The Wrestling Engine and the Career mode hands down.
WORST FEATURE- Nothing at this point, I�m totally satisfied with the effort put forth, but If I had to find something, I would have to say more modes would have been nice, but hey, I�m enjoying the game.
IN A NUTSHELL- Great job on Acclaim, a new fresh beginning and this series could turn into something spectacular. Overall, well done, and with just a couple of minor touches here and there, the name Acclaim Wrestling could be spoken in the same breath with the likes of AKI, Human/Spike and Yukes.
