Dear parents

Golf Tournament/Family Day

A reminder about the Golf Tournament the school is organising to raise funds for the school computer lab. This is to be held on Friday 3rd November at the Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club. Tee - off will be at 7:30 in the morning.

This is being organised as a family day, so all pupils will spend the day at Sutera Harbour involved in various activities while their parents play in the tournament. Please fill in your entry form if you intend to play in the Golf Tournament and also try and bring friends to play in the tournament. The more funds raised, the more computers we can have in the computer lab.

Recruitment of English/History Teacher

I will be away next week interviewing candidates for the English/History teacher position. Mrs Abdul Rahman will be taking English and Year 10 History in the Secondary Department.

Book Donation for Library

I would like to thank Mr & Mrs Vekic for their donation of books on Canada. The school hopes to build up an extensive selection of books on other countries, and so parents are most welcome to donate books about their home country to the school library.

Mid-term Break (October 21st to 29th)

A reminder that the school will be closed for mid-term break from October 21st to 29th. Pupils will return to school on  Monday 30th October.

Parking

I would like to thank parents for cooperating with the new parking arrangements. Things have been better this week, though I realise that the new arrangements have caused some minor inconvenience to parents who have had to park outside the gates.

Senior Field Trip

Pupils from Year 6 to Year 10 will be going on a field trip to Mt Kinabalu and Poring Hot Spring from 27th – 30th November.

School Lunches

We have noticed many children are eating very unhealthy foods at school – far too many sweets and junk foods.  The high sugar intake effects their behaviour and ability to study.  We have decided to NOT ALLOW sweets and lollies at school.  The children have been told this in assembly today.

As an incentive to bring more healthy food to school there will be a house-point for each child with fruit or vegetables in their lunch-box.

Forthcoming PTA Events

  • Disco: Monday 23rd October at Something Al’s
  • Quiz Night: Friday 20th October at KIS

For further details, please refer to the attachment.  All replies to be in by Sunday 15th October.

 `Mister Skellybones’ Show

(ELC, Reception, Year 1, 2, and 3 children)

Please bring costumes on a hanger (with child’s name) by Monday 9 October as the children will be painting `bones’ on their costumes next week.

On Friday 13th October there will be a `Mister Skellybones’ rehearsal at Church of God at 8am.

+ Please drop your child at the church on this day (13-10-00) and bring their bags to school and place in their lockers.
