Dear Parents

We come to the end of what has been a very busy second term at school. We have had numerous events organised by both the staff and the school PTA. We had the school sports day, an open day for parents, a fun run, and a careers week in recent weeks. We also had the term examinations and assessments week, and it has been pleasing to note a steady improvement in scores across each of the Year groups. The staff have worked very hard this term, and I would like to thank them for their committed effort.

There are soon to be some changes in staff and we also have some pupils leaving the school. Melissa, Ryan and Monique Rocastle who will return home to England. We wish them all the best in their new schools that they will be joining in September. It is also with some regret that we bid farewell to Ms. Flory and Mr. Aylward. They are returning to the United States to take up teaching positions there. We wish them every success in their new schools.

The school is now in the process of appointing new staff to teach in the English and Humanities departments. I would also like to announce that the school has also appointed Mr. Kevin Davies who will join the Science Department next January. He presently is teaching at the Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur and is the Head of Science as well as the Co-ordinator of IGCSE in that school.

The PTA helped organised the Bastille Day celebrations, the barbeque at the fun run, and a quiz night. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the members of the PTA who have worked very hard on behalf of the school. I would also like to thank all the parents that have always fully supported these events.

The Board of Management has also been very busy this term, and has been able to finalise arrangements for the new building project. A contractor has been appointed and the work will begin as soon as the various approvals from the City council are finalised.

Finally, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday break. I look forward to meeting you all again next term. Term Three begins on Monday, September 11th.

Resources Request

Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3 will be studying ‘Homes’ as their topic next term. Miss Johnstone has requested that if you have or see any pictures, posters or advertisements showing houses or homes, please save them and give them to Miss Johnstone and Ms Dennis next term.

Lost Properties

Parents are advised to check for any lost properties from the Lost Properties Box or Front Office TODAY.  Any unclaimed properties by end of next week will be disposed accordingly.

We have two spectacles, a bunch of car keys, a few watches to be claimed from the front office.  If you have lost any such items you may claim them by giving a description of your lost item.
