The school will be holding a fun run for all pupils and parents on Saturday, 8th July. The run will start at 4.00pm at the school and will follow a route close to the school. The PTA will hold a barbeque immediately after the run. Tickets for the barbeque are RM15.00 for adults and older pupils, and RM10.00 for pupils Year 5 and below. Quiz Night

The PTA held a very successful quiz night last Friday. There were in excess of 40 people in attendance. The evening raised RM650.00. I would like to thank all parents, friends for supporting the event, and also thank the PTA for organising it.

Project : - Computer Lab

The hopes to have a computer lab set up by January 2001. We aim to have 20 computers, all networked and with an ISDN internet connection for fast internet access. It will also include a scanner, CD re-writer, digital camera and colour printer.

It is envisaged that all classes in both the Primary Department and Secondary Department will have at least four lessons in computers a week.  Pupils in the Primary Department will be working towards the Cambridge ICT Award, while Secondary Department pupils will be working towards the Cambridge Award in Computer Competence and Cambridge Careers Award in ICT.

Included in the syllabus will be learning various computer programmes, web-page design, graphics design and CAD design. In addition to this, arrangements will be made to set up computer lessons for parents as well each week.

The school needs to raise RM45,000.00 for the computer lab. Fund raising activities are already being organised by the PTA and Board of Management. The first of these will be the Bastille day celebration on July 14th in association with the French community of Sabah. It is hoped that all families will support this project as your children will benefit greatly from it.

Bastille Day Celebration : July 14th

The PTA in association with the French community of Sabah, will being organising a Bastille Day (France National Day) celebration at the Yacht Club on 14th July. It will be held in the evening and is open to all families and friends, so please keep this day free to join this event. It will be raising funds for the school computer lab.

Empty Food Boxes

Please save and send to school any empty food boxes (especially cylinders), as Miss Johnstone needs them for a maths project.

Exam & Assessments Week: 3rd – 7th July

Next week is exam and assessments week. Pupils from the Primary Department will sit various standardised assessments. The Pupils in the Secondary Department will sit exams. The purpose of these are to give pupils practice at sitting examinations, whilst assisting teachers assessing pupil progress and future planning needs.

Parking Cars in School Grounds

A reminder that parents should move their car out of the school grounds by 8.00am when the bell goes. A number of cars are remaining in the grounds after the bell, and are interfering with  PE lessons. If you know that you need to stay in the school after the bell, then please park outside the school gates.
