FOBISSEA Games

A group of twelve pupils travelled to the FOBBISEA Primary Games in Kuala Lumpur last week. Despite being the smallest team at the Games, our pupils performed very well, winning eleven medals in athletics and swimming. In addition to winning these medals, each of our pupils were able to make it into the finals of at least one of their events.  The team received a number of very complimentary comments about their behaviour and competitive spirit from parents and principals of other schools. Members of our team were: Ryan Rocastle, Sam Hulls, Kevin Hughes, Melissa Rocastle, Claire Tan, Tseu Min Yee, Tseu Bing Shian, Derek Lawrie, Alex Woi, Randal Low, Kim Jun Hyun and Russell Hodgson.

Student Council

Elections were held for the Student Council. The representatives are : Daniel Lin, Cheryl Quek, Marc Hughes, Jessica Kofod, Katherine Caspillo, and Samuel Poon. Daniel Lin has been elected Chairman of the Council, and therefore, Head Student.

Science/IT Week

Next week (June 5th - 9th) will be Science/IT Week. The aim of it being to promote science and information technology to the pupils, and increase their understanding of these areas. The Primary Department will be involved in a series of projects related to this throughout each day of the week.

Classes in the Secondary Department will work in their home-room all week, and concentrate on activities related to the Science and IT theme. Classes such as Mathematics, Geography and History will not be held as they usually are, but instead, pupils will be investigating ways in which these other subject areas relate to Science and IT.

 

School Open Day : Tuesday, June 13th.

Parents and friends are invited to come into school on Tuesday, June 13th between 10.30am and 12.00 noon and visit your child's class. Each class will have displays related to the Science / IT work undertaken the week before.

Reception / Year 1 Class will go for swimming on Monday, next week.

School Holiday: June 15th & 16th

A reminder that school will be closed on June 15th & 16th.

Sports Day: Friday, 23rd June

Parent Helpers are required to assist staff during the school Sports Day on Friday, June 23rd. If you are willing to help, please contact Cigku Mutang.

Likas Wetlands Open Day

The Likas Wetlands will be staging an Open Day on June 4th from 8.00am – 11.00am as part of World Environment Day. All families are encouraged to take part in this event as it promotes a very important message.
