Dear Parents
Tomorrow
brings to an end the academic year. It has proven to be a challenging yet
very satisfying two terms. A lot of work has been done to further improve
our school and to provide greater opportunities for our students. The most
tangible achievements have been our first group of Year 11 students
sitting their IGCSE examinations and the opening of our Secondary
Department building and computer laboratory. The
school created three new teaching positions for the Secondary Department
as well as ensured that it invested in improving the school’s teaching
resources. We were also fortunate to acquire the extra piece of land next
to the teachers' car park, and this is now being developed as a play area.
During the recent school inspection by Mr John Jones, Chairman of FOBISSEA, praised the school for its continued growth and development and was impressed by the positive atmosphere and spirit of cooperation that existed in the school. We can all be proud of the school's achievements as each and every member of our school community has played a part in the schools continued development. Finally
I would like to congratulate the teachers and the students themselves for
an excellent year's work. There has been a noticeable rise in academic
performance across the school, and this is a reflection of the commitment
on the part of the school staff and the improvement in the students study
habits. Last
Week's Activities Last week proved to be very busy. The school's beach clean-up in association with Sutera Harbour was very successful. The students can be very satisfied with their efforts as they did a tremendous job in clearing the plastic and litter from various beaches in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park.

Registration for A levels Yesterday
the London University sent their inspector of schools to perform a school
inspection as part of our application to become a registered Examinations
Center for London University. This is with a view to the schools recent
decision to open A Levels in January next year. I am pleased to report that
the school passed the inspection and our application will be granted. We will
be the first and only school in Sabah to have successfully gained this
recognition. Last
Day Arrangements Tomorrow
the school will close at 12.00 noon. Please
make arrangements to collect your child at this earlier time. Students do not
have to come to school dressed in school uniform as part of the Mufti day
fund-raiser organised by the school PTA. The fee for this privilege is RM5.00. New
School Uniforms
(Secondary Department) A
number of students were measured for their new school uniform today. Those
parents that have yet to order a new uniform can go direct to the tailor. The
new shirts will be on sale in the school during the last week of the holidays.
The tailor can be contacted at: Mr
Peter Liew -- H/p 016 - 840 7111 Lost
Property There
is a large amount of lunch boxes and clothes in the lost property box. Please
take the time to check if any of it belongs to you. If it is not collected by
Friday afternoon it will be given away. Also,
if anyone has come across a small silver spoon in the playground please return
it to Nichole Bursche. This has a name 'Bent' printed on the back of it. It
has great sentimental value and Nichole would be delighted if someone was able
to find it for her. After
School Clubs Next Term In
an effort to provide more after school activities for students next term, we
are hoping that a number of parents would be willing to volunteer their
services to lead clubs. If anyone is interested in helping out in this way
please speak to Mr Dickinson.
Last
but not least, wishing everyone an enjoyable, safe and happy holiday
