Dear Parents

Adventure Club

A reminder that the school Adventure Club has an outing on Sunday. The Club will be jungle trekking over Pulau Gaya. If you have not already registered for the trip, please see Miss Stansfield.

Donations

This week the school received donations of

a very impressive looking barbeque set by Mr Marcel Dimoski, QA Manager of Sunshine;

a set outdoor table and benches from Mr & Mrs James Quek.

 These were arranged by the school PTA. I would like to thank Mr Dimoski, Mr & Mrs Quek, and the PTA for their efforts and generosity.

Pet Show & Picnic

Despite the overcast weather a large number of families still attended the Pet Show and family picnic at the school last Saturday. The pet show was followed by a soccer match, scooter races and a golf-putting competition. The day raised some RM500.00. I would like to thank the PTA for the time they spent in organising this event.

Exam & Assessments Week

Next week our Year 2 to 5 pupils will be sitting assessments in English, reading and mathematics, while the Secondary Department will be sitting exams in all academic subjects. Please be punctual in having your child in school before 8.00am.

Japanese School Visit

Earlier this week the Japanese school visited KIS. Their pupils joined in with classes throughout the morning whilst it provided an opportunity for the teachers to look around our school and interact with out staff. Next September, our Year 2 & 3 class will go on a reciprocal visit to the Japanese School.

Exam week (Message from Mr Davies)

It is that time of the year again. Next week all of our secondary students will be taking end of year exams. They will be tested on all of the material they have studied since January, so there is a lot of work to revise. Please encourage your child to prepare for these exams by spending some time revising this weekend. We would like to see all of our students fulfilling their potential.

Year 10 students will be joining Years 6 to 9 for PE on Tuesday for exam week only and will need to bring their PE kit.

Grade cards

All the secondary students will be bringing home their grade cards today. The grades reflect your child’s performance over the past month or so since the last grades were issued. Please sign the cards to let us know that you have seen them and return them to school on Monday. Once the teachers have checked the grade cards, they are yours to keep.

If you have any questions about the grades please direct them to the teacher concerned or Mr Davies. Thank you.
