Dear Parents

Tables Donations

Most of you will have noticed the new tables for pupils to sit at during break times. These have been donated to the school as a result of a drive by the school PTA. On behalf of the school I would like to thank the following people and companies that have generously donated the tables: Anders Møller, Carsten Hollaender, Hans Møller, Helen Wong, John Gorham, Jens Busche, Jelica Yap, Susim Tseu, Ai-Ling Quek, Hien-Hua Loh, DLH Nordisk, and Wangsa Plantations Sdn Bhd.

Parents interested can also order these tables through the PTA at RM300 per unit.

School Picnic & Fun Day: Saturday, 16th June

The school PTA is organising a Picnic & Fun Day for families on Saturday, 16th June at the school. There will be a variety of games and activities to entertain everyone. These will include a pet show, scooter races, and a pupils vs parents soccer match. More details will follow soon.

School Inspection

Mr John Jones, Principal of the St Christopher’s School in Penang has been in school for the last two days performing an inspection of the school. Mr Jones is a very well known and respected Principal within FOBISSEA, having been the organization’s Chairman for a number of years. He will be appraising the progress of the school to date, and providing guidelines for the school’s future development.

Examinations Week: 25th – 29th June

A reminder that the school Assessments and Examinations Week will take place in the week beginning 25th June. Pupils from Year 2 to Year 5 will be sitting standardised assessments from England in English, reading and mathematics. Students in the Secondary Department will be sitting examinations in each subject area.

Extra-ordinary General Meeting: 20th June 2001 at 7.30pm

Please note, that the school will be holding an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting on 20th June in the school library at 7.30pm. The purpose of the meeting is to vote on the Board of Management proposal to use RM65,000.00 to set up an A Levels programme (Year 12 & 13) in the school.

This is a very important decision and your attendance is required. Whilst many parents have pupils that are in the Primary Department rather then in the Secondary Department, you each have a vested interest in a financial expenditure of this size. The Board therefore requires your attendance to meet the quorum and to gain your feedback on this proposal.
