Dear Parents
New Families Coffee Morning: 12th March The PTA are organising a coffee morning for all
parents on Monday 12th March at 8.15am in the Library. This is
an opportunity for existing parents to welcome new parents to the school. Annual General Meeting: 29th March The School Annual General Meeting will be held on
Thursday 29th March at 7.30pm in the Library. A new Board of
Management will be elected to oversee the operation of the school at this
meeting. Nominations for the Board of Management can be registered on the
sheet displayed at the entrance. PTA Event:
International Food Evening – 30th March The School PTA is organising an International Food
evening on Friday 30th March. This is to act as a fundraiser
for our school FOBISSEA sports team. Parents are asked to cook meals from
their home country for the evening. Tickets will be on sale and the
proceeds from this will go to the FOBISSEA team. Bingo will also be played
and prizes will be available for this. Essay Competition:
15th March
Ms Hardie is organising a school Essay Competition.
Topics for the essays will be announced next Monday. Pupils from Year 4
– 11 will be judged in categories according to their age. They can work
on their essays at home. Entries will need to be submitted to Ms Hardie by
2.30pm on the 15th March. Dogs in School If parents bring a dog into the school grounds whilst collecting their child, please ensure that it is
kept on a leash and under control at all times. We need to be sensitive to
those families who, for religious reasons prefer their child not to touch
dogs or be touched by them.

Blind Society Charity Work On Wednesday next week, our pupils will perform some
charity work for the Sabah Blind Society. They will be assisting the Society
by filling and organising envelopes for them. Tadpole Update! The Reception/Year 1 class has now watched 19 tadpoles grow into frogs in their class aquarium. The frogs have been given a home in Mrs Lamb’s pond, except for one who likes it so much at KIS he is still jumping around the classroom! New Nature Club KIS is setting up a Nature Club to be held on Fridays
at 3pm. All students are welcome
to join however, younger children should be accompanied by their parents.
Our first meeting will be a field trip to the Bird Sanctuary next
Friday, 16th March from 3pm to 5pm.
Parents must arrange transport for their children to and from the
Sanctuary. We are looking for
parent volunteers to help out with the Nature Club. Please see Anthea Lamb if
you are interested. To join the
Club and go on the field trip, please fill out the form below and return it to
the school office before next Friday.
