Dear Parents Please find attached
the school calendar of events for the next two terms. As mentioned
earlier, the academic year will only be two terms long. This is because we
will be changing the academic year from being January to December as it
presently is, to being September to August as it is in England. Year 11 Pupils Sitting IGCSE This year we will
have our first group of Year 11 pupils sitting for the IGCSE examinations.
They will be sitting mock exams next week in English and Mathematics to
test their readiness for the main exams. Parents of the Year 11 pupils
will be called to a meeting in the week following the Chinese New Year
break to discuss preparation for the IGCSE examinations. Music Teacher Urgently Required
The school requires
the services of a music teacher for eight hours a week. If anyone knows of
a music teacher who may be interested in this position please ask them to
contact Mr Van Rijswijk. Computer Lab Donation: Mrs Pau-Lin Lee
Pupils Late For School We are now into the second week of the term and we still have a sizeable number of pupils arriving late to school each morning. This causes considerable inconvenience to the class teacher and fellow pupils. Please ensure you have your pupils in school in time. Could parents also ensure that they collect their child on time after school. |
The school PTA has
organised a Lion Dance to be performed at the school on Tuesday, 23rd
January between 10.00 & 11.00 am. All parents are invited. Chinese New Year Break The school will be
closed for Chinese New Year from Wednesday 24th January and will
reopen on Monday 29th January. We would like to wish all our
families Gong Xi Fa Cai. Secondary Pupil Homework Diaries The school has
designed a new format for the pupil homework diary, and it is being printed
now. We hope to be able to distribute these when the pupils return from the
Chinese New Year break.
We are still desperately in need of parent volunteers to assist with swimming. Parents are needed to help with the ELC class as well as the Reception to Year 3 group. If we do not get enough help, then we will have to cancel swimming. Please see your child's class teacher if you can help. |
