Dear Parents
This week has, somewhat inevitably, been dominated by exams. IGCSE papers have been flowing steadily and the library, which is also our examinations room, has been pretty much in full use for one thing or another. It has also been the week of Key Stage 2 tests. Our truly international flavour was again brought home to me on Thursday when we had no less than three translators working on the KS2 mental maths paper, helping fairly recently arrived students with the language aspect of the questions … My thanks to our Danish, Indonesian and Japanese helpers! FOBISSEA Preparations
for the primary FOBISSEA Games continue apace, with training taking place
four times a week. One week from today the team will be taking off for FOBISSEA
Raffle Although we have some nice bottles of red wine and some children’s books, we could still do with a few more prizes for the FOBISSEA Raffle. Would you have a look this weekend to see if you have any spare “goodies” that would make nice raffle prizes? Mrs Wickham will gratefully receive them. The draw will take place shortly, so please buy lots of tickets to support the team! “Stitchery”
Display
Mrs Hamilton would like to invite all parents to see the amazing
“stitchery” display in the
School photographs will be taken on two days:

The school magazine is currently being prepared and we like to provide as full a record of the school year as possible. Please let us have any PHOTOGRAPHS that you have taken of school events, provided that they are of sufficiently high resolution to re-print. All contributions will be gratefully received!
Unfortunately, rain stopped play for the Cricket Club last Monday. But in the future, unless there is a threat of lightning, we shall be playing through any downpours. So participants, please make sure that you bring a towel and a change of clothes to Cricket Club every week. You might need them! If
you have not returned your slip to the office indicating a preference for
Mandarin, Bahasa Learning
English From time to time we do get asked for information by parents who wish to improve their English. Mrs Kamal has recently given me information about the Cambridge English for Life programme, which is now running in KK. We have a leaflet in the office and their phone number is 389290 if anyone is interested. Mother’s
Day Assembly The primary section’s Mother’s Day Assembly was well-attended last week and we were very pleased to see a few fathers there as well! The children’s tributes to their mothers were touching and there was barely a dry eye in the house by the end.
Enjoy the weekend. Best wishes, |
