Dear Parents

As I write this, the school is humming with activity. It is Mufti Day and International Day and there are some lovely costumes around. The PTA is busy organising breaktime and lunchtime food treats and the children are excited at the prospects of eating a lot and having extended leisure time. Cikgu Mutang has comfortably walked off with the national dress for staff award … and most of the rest of us look pretty much the same as we always do. Oh well…

Secondary Parents’ Evening

Early warning that there is a Secondary Parents’ Evening on Monday 12 July, starting at 3.15. Full details and a form for booking appointments will follow next week.

Secondary Reports

Secondary reports are due out next Friday. Please read these carefully before the Parents Evening and if there are points you would like clarifying, please do not hesitate to ask.

Year 6 SAT results

We received the SAT results for Maths and Science last week but are still waiting for the English results. When we have received all three, we will send home a formal record of the levels achieved.

Reception Class Reports

Reports for the Reception Class will, I’m afraid, be a little later than we intended. Mme Teresa’s baby came at a very inconvenient time (!) and she herself has not been particularly well since the birth. We wish her a speedy recovery and ask parents to accept our apologies for the delay.

Emergency Phone System

The Emergency Phone System was trialled recently and proved pretty successful. However, now is the time to sort out any glitches that occurred. If you are a team leader, please try to sort out any difficulties you may have had in contacting your team.

Outward Bound

I am delighted to say that we have now had an upsurge in numbers for the Outward Bound programme and we shall be sending off the majority of our secondary students at 6.30 am on Monday for two days of fun and challenge.  School is going to be very quiet without them. Can I remind parents that the pick-up time is 6.00 pm on Tuesday.

Missing Ice Box

At the Year 1/2  campfire evening, an ice box went missing. It has Laynee Dobson’s name on it and is blue and white. If anybody picked it up by mistake in the darkness, please return it to Laynee.

PTA Notice

Mufti Day: The PTA would like to express our gratitude for your continued support. We especially thank those of you who have donated some scrumptious and delectable food from your countries of origin. International Mufti Day wouldn’t have been a success without the flavours of the world!

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, Saturday, 3rd July at 7:00pm at the Sutera Harbour Marina Club’s “Blue Lagoon” for our End of School Party with an array of entertainment from our students organized by Mr Albert .. including a special number from “Bodycare” sponsored by Mrs Helen Wong. Our apologies for the short notice of this last-minute event.

We would like to wish Helen Wong & family and the rest of the families who are leaving KIS this year all the best in your new homes and your future endeavours .. Bon Voyage, Selamat Jalan .. Jumpa Lagi!

The next PTA monthly meeting will be on Monday 5th July at 8:30am in the school library.

Term seems to be drawing to a hectic close – I look forward to seeing many of you at Sutera Harbour tomorrow night!

Best wishes,
