Dear Parents

Hari Raya Holiday

As you know, the dates of Hari Raya have yet to be finally fixed and so there is some uncertainty about which days next week will be Public Holidays. To simplify matters and allow parents and staff to plan accordingly, school will definitely be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as stated in the school calendar. If Thursday is declared a Public Holiday then school will have to close and we will make up the lost day later in the school year. Otherwise, school will re-open for Thursday and Friday.

KIS AGM

The AGM will take place on Friday, 28 November at 7.00 pm. Nominations are urgently needed for new Board members and nomination forms are available from the school office. This is a very important event in the school calendar so please try to attend even if you are not interested in standing for the Board.

PTA Family Dinner

Alongside this week’s school newsletter is the PTA newsletter with ample feedback on the Family Dinner held last Friday. It was a splendid occasion and I can only repeat my thanks to everybody concerned for such an enjoyable evening. It produced a healthy profit that will in due course benefit our children and the whole school community.

Primary Swimming

There will be no more swimming for primary students this term. Local schools are on holiday, which means we no longer have the pool to ourselves, and time is urgently needed for other end-of-term activities. It seems sensible, therefore, to call a halt to swimming for this term.

Primary Presentation

Please write into your diaries the end-of-term Primary Presentation on Thursday, 11 December. It will take place at the Sutera Harbour Marina Movie Theatre and begin promptly at 6.30. Tickets will go on sale shortly and the price will include food after the presentation.

Primary staff would also like to give advance notice that on the Monday and Tuesday of that week, parents will be asked to drop their children off at Sutera Harbour at around 7.45 in the morning instead of at school. This is so that rehearsals can take place in the performance venue. More details will be given nearer the time.

Thank you…

Diana Hughes for the donation of some colourful mugs for the school staffroom.

FOBISSEA Games

At the time of writing we have had only 5 deposits for the games next June. As today is the deadline for registration and deposits, it looks as though we will be unable to send a team. The minimum number we require is 10. This is a big disappointment.

May I wish all parents and students who will be celebrating Hari Raya a happy and joyful festive season – and all other parents and students a relaxing break. I look forward to seeing everyone towards the end of next week!

Best wishes,
