Holidays Next Friday, May
30, the school will be closed for the Harvest Festival holiday. The
Newsletter will be distributed on Thursday. Congratulations
to Bing Shian Bing Shian went to
England recently to sit the scholarship exams for one of the most
prestigious schools in the country – Winchester College. He had to
take eight papers, in competition with 51 other students. Bing Shian
performed brilliantly, coming seventh and he was awarded one of the
fifteen scholarships on offer. As Bing Shian is only twelve, his entry
to the College is deferred until September 2004. Congratulations, Bing.
We are all very proud of you. Secondary Grade
Cards Pupils in Years 6
to 10 will be receiving their first Grade Cards of the term today.
Please take the time to discuss the grades with your child before
signing the card and returning it to school on Monday. Books Our thanks go to
Ana Kollert and Diana Hughes for donating books to the library. Photographs
needed If you have any
photographs of the swimming gala and other school events that you would
like to see published in the school magazine, please pass them to Ms
Hardie or Mr Davies. We need your help so please take the time to look
through your photo albums for suitable pictures. Book Sale This Thursday and
Friday, Edukids bookstore has been at the school displaying some of
their products. We hope everybody has had a chance to see what has been
on offer and that you have found some of the books useful. We have to
thank Mrs Ling-Ling Park for organising the sale. |

Nature Art
Competition There is still a lot of
time for pupils to enter the competition. Remember any kind of artwork is
allowed but make sure that it is mounted on paper. You should write your name
and class somewhere it cannot be seen, i.e. on the back or underneath your
work. KK Toys has generously donated gift vouchers for some of the prizes for
the art competition so winners can be sure of some good prizes. There will be
an auction of the artwork at the BBQ held after sports day. Apologies The PTA would like to
thank Mrs Nora Heywood for her donation towards the PTA coffee morning and
apologize for not mentioning her by name in the earlier report. With your help … The children have
started their training for sports day during their PE lessons at school. We
would ask you to encourage your children to be as active as possible outside
of school so that their levels of physical fitness improve in time for June
27, sports day. Next week we shall be
concentrating on good manners and respect and consideration
for others. Stickers will be awarded to pupils whenever they are seen
demonstrating these qualities. There will be rewards for the children who
prove to be the most polite, considerate and respectful in their class. We
would be grateful if you could remind the children of the importance of these
characteristics at home. In September, many of our classrooms will be improved. If you have any storage units, shelves or similar items that you would like to donate to the school, please contact Mr Davies. |
