Dear Parents

End of term

Next Friday, April 4, is the last day of this term. School will finish at 12:00. Parents will be allowed to park inside the compound on the last day as, no doubt, the pupils will be laden down with things to take home.

The final day of term will be a “Mufti Day” so students do not have to wear their uniforms.  Those not wearing school uniform will be asked to make a RM5 donation to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). In keeping with the wildlife theme, our primary pupils are encouraged to dress up in their animal costumes from the production on the last day. On the final day, secondary students will have PE instead of swimming.

It has been a very hectic term and we wish everybody a happy and restful Easter holiday. School re-opens on Tuesday, April 22.

Hansel and Gretel

On Thursday evening, over a hundred parents and children were treated to an outing in the Bavarian woods as the Primary school staged their production of “Hansel and Gretel” at the Sutera Harbour Mini-theatre. All of the pupils’ and their teachers’ hard work was in evidence as the cast performed well and kept the audience captivated for an hour. Congratulations to the Primary school for a job well done.

The VCD of “Hansel and Gretel” will be available from the school office next week. Copies will cost RM15. Please place your order on Monday, April 1, if you wish to have a permanent record of the production. Our thanks go to Puan Hajah Saleha for arranging the filming of the production.

PTA AGM

The PTA Annual General Meeting will be held in the library at school at 8:15am on Monday, 31 March. The PTA elections will take place at this meeting and all interested parents are encouraged to attend.

IGCSE Art and Design Paper 1

This Friday evening after school and all day Saturday some of our Year 10 and 11 students will be sitting for their Art IGCSE. This examination is ten hours long. We wish the students the best of luck.

Secondary Grade Cards and Parents Evening

Students in Years 6 to 10 will receive their grade cards this Friday. After reading them, please sign the cards and send them back to the Form Tutors on Monday. Alternatively, you may wish to keep them until Monday evening in order to discuss them with your child’s teachers. The Parent Teacher Interviews for all secondary students, except Year 11, will be held between 2:45 and 4:00 and 5:30 and 7:30 on that evening. (The Year 11 interviews were held earlier in the term.) Appointment letters have already been sent home.

KIS Football

At 4:30pm on Saturday the KIS football team will be playing the Nexus Resort A team at Karambunai. The team should meet at school at 3:30pm, ready to leave for the game by 4:00pm. So if you are planning a relaxing weekend at the Nexus resort, why not go down to the football pitch and support the KIS team?

Red House Books

The Red House Books have now arrived at school. Please collect them from the school office as soon as possible.

 Registration of Drivers and Maids

We ask that parents complete the attached form for the registration of maids and drivers and return it to the school office as soon as possible, if you have not yet done so.

After School Clubs

As usual in the last week of term, there will be no after-school activities with the exception of the Mandarin classes that will take place as usual. We ask that parents collect the children promptly at the end of school.
