Dear Parents

Congratulations to Logan Hamilton

Last spring, some of our pupils wrote stories that were sent to the “Young Writers” Competition for students aged between eleven and eighteen. Some 42,000 entries were received from students in British schools from all around the world. Logan was one of the few chosen from all those thousands to have his story published in the “Young Writers Anthology”, “A walk in the clouds”, Logan’s story is about climbing Mount Kinabalu and was written when he was just eleven years old.

Logan has been kind enough to autograph a copy of the Young Writers Anthology and is donating it to our school library, so we will all have a chance to read Logan’s outstanding story. Congratulations to Logan on becoming a published author and may you always keep writing! We are all very proud of you Logan, well done.

Hansel and Gretel

The Primary department production team requests that all costumes be brought to school on Monday, March 10. The costumes should be labelled with the pupil’s name and along with any accessories, placed on a clothes hanger. Meanwhile our budding actors should continue learning their lines.

AIMS Meeting

On Monday, March 10, Mr Davies will be attending the Annual General Meeting of the Association of International Malaysian Schools in Kuala Lumpur. He will be back in school on Tuesday.

PTA AGM

Please make a note in your diaries that the Annual General Meeting of the PTA will now take place on Monday, March 31.

Footballs in the Playground Area

A number of boys have been kicking footballs up into the trees and trying to knock down branches and twigs. These could easily land on somebody’s head and hurt them. This must stop immediately.

Careers Week

Next Thursday afternoon, Years 8, 9 and 10 will visit the offices of the Danish Hydrological Institute in Likas as part of careers week. The students will learn about careers as engineers, biologists and surveyors. The visit will also focus on the education qualifications needed to join these professions. This is a great opportunity for some of our students to gain first hand knowledge of the working life of professionals. We would like to thank Mr John Grønbech for organizing this trip.
