Visit by the Japanese School
Last Friday, the Japanese school, all 15 students and 7 teachers, visited KIS to join in some of our lessons. The Japanese pupils joined classes from Reception/Year 1 to Years 8/9. They had a very enjoyable time with our students while practising their English language skills. The students played games and built towers with our pupils who made them very welcome.

IGCSE/GCSE
Our Year 11 students are sitting their last GCSE paper today. This year the exams have gone on for a very long time and the Year 11s have had to show a great deal of stamina. We wish them the best of luck. The results will be published at the end of August.

Sports Day – volunteers needed
Our Sports Day takes place next Friday. Penampang Stadium is the venue. We are asking parents to volunteer as we still need a number of officials. Please see Cikgu Mutang as soon as possible if you can help.

Dance Club
The past few days seem to have had a Japanese theme. On Wednesday afternoon, ladies dressed in Kimonos were seen around the school. They all looked splendid on their way to demonstrate traditional Japanese dances to the club. Thank you ladies for taking the time to help with the Dance Club.

Reminder
We respectfully remind parents to pay RM20 for the school photographs by next Thursday if you have not already done so.

Raising Money for Charity
Two events have been planned to raise money for WWF Malaysia and Hutan.

We will be holding a sponsored five-a-side football tournament on the afternoon of Friday, July 4. The sponsorship forms are in circulation so please give generously.

A number of our pupils have made a great effort and have shown a lot of talent producing artwork to be auctioned at the PTA Barbeque. The art is on display in the video room (next to the staff room, upstairs in the Primary block). You can bid for the artwork from Monday. Instructions for making the bids are given on the back of the Newsletter.
