Dear Parents Welcome back Hopefully, after an
enjoyable and restful holiday everybody returns to school eager to start
the new term. The start of term is always a hectic time and it is
important that the children settle into the routine as quickly as
possible. We respectfully
request that parents get their children to school punctually so that the
teachers can start lessons on time. Obviously starting the lesson becomes
difficult if parents are still helping their child to settle in the
classroom at 8:00. Parents
can also help by ensuring that their cars are removed from the playground
by 8:00 as PE lessons start at this time on a number of days. Your
cooperation in these matters would be greatly appreciated. After-school
activities The activities
programme will start in Week 3 (21st January) this term as
usual. There are clubs available from Monday to Friday and we would urge
you to encourage our children to take full advantage of the activities on
offer. Pupils with major roles in the Primary production will start their
production club on Monday next week. If any parents would like to help out
with an existing activity or would like to run their own club please see
Mr Dickinson as soon as possible. All volunteers are welcome. Mandarin Classes Ms Helen Yee will
be starting her after-school Mandarin language classes next week. If you
wish your child to attend it is essential that you complete the form sent
out yesterday and return it to the school office by Monday 14th
January. Unfortunately late entries cannot be entertained. Only new
students or those absent at the present time will be allowed to join after
the closing date. Mock GCSE’s
for Year 11 Next week sees our
Year 11 students take their mock GCSE examinations. The students have a
very heavy schedule of exams that continues until Monday 21st
January. As the mocks will be held in the library, this room will be
unavailable during this time. National
Curriculum Revision and Work books Next Wednesday to Friday a variety of useful books will be available for viewing and ordering. A display will be set up on the forecourt. These books are published by CGP and are aimed at helping pupils and parents prepare for the National Curriculum Tests that will be held next term. They proved to be a very popular buy last year. |
