Dear Parents

Primary School Reports and Interviews

This term’s reports for all of our Primary School pupils go out today. We would urge you to discuss the reports with your children so that they can gain the maximum benefit from them. Having read the reports, I know that many of our pupils have every reason to be proud of their work so far. Please return the acknowledgement slips to the school office on Monday.

The Primary parent teacher interviews will now take place on Tuesday, February 18, rather than the Wednesday. The interviews were moved to make sure that the very popular Primary football club did not miss out on its weekly session. If you wish to attend the interviews, please complete the reply slip and return it to your child’s teacher on Monday so that an interview can be scheduled.

Danum Valley Field Trip

Our intrepid Danum Valley explorers return on Monday, February 17. No doubt, they will have had a highly enjoyable and educational trip and will have a few tales to tell. Just a reminder that the party will arrive back at KK airport (flight number MH2089) at 2:30 p.m. Please be on time to meet them.

Here are the emergency telephone numbers again if any parent urgently needs to contact their children over the weekend.

  • 013 867 1799 (KIS handphone) or
  • 019 811 5553 (Mrs Hamilton’s Handphone)

Visit to Gaya Street

As part of their topic work, Year 4/5 will be visiting Gaya Street next Thursday, February 20. They will be conducting fieldwork to help answer the question, “Should the High Street be closed to traffic?” They will leave school at around 9:00 and return at 12:00. Please return the permission slip to the office by Tuesday at the latest.

Likas Zone Sports

About twenty of our pupils in Years 5 to 7 will compete in the Likas zone athletics meeting next Tuesday, February 18. The event will be held at Lok Yuk School in Likas. Would the parents of our competitors please make sure that the children are at Lok Yok School by 7:30 am. The games should finish around 12:00. Again, please be prompt when collecting your children.  The children would really appreciate your support while they are battling against students from other schools. Wednesday, February 18, is the finals day for the meeting. Hopefully, our pupils will be able to qualify for these finals.

Good luck to all of our athletes.

Swimming Gala

Our annual swimming gala will be held at the Likas Sports Complex pool on Friday, February 21. The gala was originally meant to take place on the Thursday but it was decided that the event would be an excellent way to finish off the week. Parents should take their children directly to the pool complex. We would ask that the children arrive by 8:00 so that the gala can start promptly at 8:30. Parents are encouraged to stay and cheer on their children.

The Lower School Competition will be held in the small pool and should be finished by 10:30 while the Upper School Competition should be completed by 12:00. The small pool is out in the open so please make sure that your children are adequately protected against the sun. Parents are free to take their children home after their respective competitions have finished. There will be no Cricket Club on this day.
