As
I write this I still have the sounds of last night’s primary
presentation ringing in my ears. It was an enjoyable and, indeed,
celebrative occasion and was a fitting end to a term of hard work and
progress. It was a joy to see the way in which the production grew and to
watch the talents that slowly emerged over the rehearsal period. I would
like to thank the many staff that gave so much time and energy to making
it a success and all the parents who supported it. Thank you. Mufti
Day Thanks
are due, as well, to the PTA for organising Mufti
Day, complete with food!
The last few days of term have been very, very busy and we have had a
number of events close together. The result has been a real sense of
excitement around school. The PTA is always looking for new members and
for support with its activities. It has an energetic and ambitious
programme that benefits the whole school community so please contribute in
any way that you can.
Please remember that school will close at 12.00 on Tuesday, 16 December. Next term starts on Thursday, 8 January.
From
the sublime to the ridiculous … head lice seem to be on the march again,
so please check your children’s hair. The great consolation is that
these charming little creatures only want to live in clean hair so it
could be regarded as a compliment if your child is playing host to some!
I
have written in the newsletter before about the telephone system that has
been set up to contact parents urgently if need arises. If your team
leader has not been in touch with you, please contact her so that, in the
event of any emergency, we are confident that communication within the
teams will be swift and effective. Please
refer to the attached E-list for information on your E-group leaders. A

Tini
is leaving us at the end of term to study in Kuala Lumpur. She has been a
great help to the Reception Class, where she has been the Classroom Assistant,
and we extend our thanks for the good work she has done here and our best
wishes for the future. Time
Past and Time Future
It remains only for me to sign off
for this term. It seems a long time ago that term started but the weeks have
flown by and I find myself slightly shocked to find that the first third of
the academic year has already passed. The build-up to the end of term has been
challenging but fun and there is much to look forward to next term. Year 11
will be taking their mock IGCSE exams, we have a full House programme, a
Healthy Eating week and the secondary school production to anticipate. Here
are some key, if still slightly provisional, dates for your new year diary:

I wish all of you a very restful and peaceful holiday. To those of you who
celebrate it, I wish you a very happy Christmas - and I look forward to seeing
everyone in the New Year. Until then, have a good break! All
