Dear Parents
This
week our primary staff has had the chance to work with Mrs Alison Davis, a
renowned expert in the field of guided reading for younger pupils. The
work done by the staff with Mrs Davis is sure to have a positive impact on
the reading development of our pupils.
Next
week is our half term holiday. The school will be closed all week and
will only reopen on Monday, 28th October. Happy holiday
everyone. Examinations While
the rest of us will be relaxing next week, our Year 11 students will be
revising furiously for their IGCSE’s which start immediately after half
term. On one day some of the students will have to sit four papers. So our
candidates will be extremely busy over the next three weeks or so. We wish
them the best of luck. Danum
Valley Trip Ms Stansfield is organising an educational field trip for senior students to Danum Valley. The trip is planned to take place between 28th November and 1st December. As only a limited number of students can take advantage of this great opportunity, places on the trip will be on a first come first served basis. More information will be available shortly after half term. |
Writing
Competition This
week students from Year 3 upwards have been given details of the school
writing competition. Each pupil is allowed to submit one piece of his or her
own writing. It can be either a poem or prose under the title “Killing
Time”. The entries must be submitted to Miss Gregory by November 1st.
They will be judged in four categories: Years 3 and 4, Years 5 and 6, Years 7
to 9 and Years 10 and 11. We would encourage all of our pupils from Year 3 and
above to enter this worthwhile competition. PTA
