Dear Parents
Next
week Mrs Alison Davis will be in school providing staff training on the
latest techniques in teaching English across the curriculum. Mrs Davis is
a renown expert in this field and has lead staff training and addressed
teacher conferences throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand and America.
The Primary Department staff will have training the whole day on Wednesday
(Relief teachers have been arranged to cover their lessons). Mrs Davis
will work with teachers in their classroom on Thursday. This
visit has been arranged in conjunction with FOBISSEA Staff Training that
we as a school are hosting. A number of teachers are flying into Kota
Kinabalu from all over Asia to attend this training. Our Primary
Department teachers will be attending this on Friday and Saturday next
week. (Relief teachers have been arranged to cover their lessons on
Friday).
We have a number of students who are presently sitting their examinations in IGCSE Art. This is very intensive and time consuming. They were involved in the first part of the examination last Friday and Saturday. They will be taking the last part of the exam today and tomorrow (Saturday). I would like to thank Cigku Mutang for giving up his weekends to invigilate these exams. |
Mid-Term
Break: 19th – 27th
October The
school will be closed for the mid-term break from 19th to 27th
October. IGCSE
Examinations From
the 28th October our Year 11 students will be sitting their main
IGCSE examinations. Donation
of Scanner Mrs
Diana Hughes has kindly donated a scanner to the school. This is greatly
appreciated and will be a great tool for our students in their work.
A
reminder that all students involved in the Bowling Club after school on
Fridays need to pay RM41.00 to the school office. This covers the lane fees
and show hire for the term. Sabah
Nature Club Activity The
club members will be visiting the DBKK
Composting Project at DBKK Nursery Likas this afternoon. Details have already
been circulated to club members yesterday.
For others who are interested, you are most welcome to join. Details
and map to location are available on the Sabah Nature Club Notice Board
(outside the Principal’s office). |
