Swimming

Swimming will definitely begin next week. We have had some initial problems finalising the times that the Likas pool is open, but we now have this sorted out. Swimming will be as follows:

ELC Monday 10:45am – 11.45am

(parents to collect child at Waterworld at 12noon)

Rec – Yr 3 Thursday 9.00am – 10.00am

Yr 4 & 5 Tuesday 9.00am – 10.00am

Yr 6 – 12 Friday 9.00am – 10.00am

Grade Cards

Students in the Secondary Department will be receiving their Grade Cards today. These are sent home each month, so that you as parents are kept informed as to your child’s progress and effort on a regular basis.

Bilingual Dictionaries

All students involved in English Second Language lessons with Mr Shale are reminded to bring a bilingual dictionary to all lessons.

Donations of Furniture for Sixth Form Room

The school will be opening Sixth Form classes in January. This is with a view to students studying for their A Levels. In doing so, the school is setting up a Sixth Form Common Room where these older students can relax during break times. This room will also be used as a study area. If anyone has an old lounge suite or chairs, study desks and the like that they would like to donate to the school, these could be used in the Common Room.

Year 2 & 3 PE Lessons

The PE Lessons for Year 2 & 3 have been moved to Tuesday morning. Please ensure your children have their PE kit on this day.

Swimming Club

The after-school Swimming Club will be held on Thursdays from 3.00 – 4.00pm at the Likas Swimming Pool. If you wish your child to join they must be confident in swimming, as all training will take place in the deeper pool. Parents will need to arrange transport for their children to and from the pool if you wish them to join this club.

After School Collection of Children

Can all parents be sure to collect their child after school on time. We have a number of Primary Department students being collected late each day.

Book Club

A reminder that the deadline for ordering is next Friday 11 October.

Message from Mrs Julia Schriver

There will be an open-house free-play gathering for all children between 3-6 at my home on Thursday, October 10^th. All welcome. Hope to see you there.
