Dear Parents Deepavali Holiday BreakI
would like to remind all families that the school will be closed on
Monday, 4th November due to the public holiday for Deepavali
celebrations. Today
is the last day for entries for the school ‘Writing Competition’. If
your child’s entry has not been submitted to Ms Gregory, please
encourage them to do so. Staff
First Aid CourseThe
staff are presently involved in a medic first aid course that has been
kindly provided by the Sabah Medical Center. The course covers first aid
techniques for sprains, broken bones, cuts and other injuries, as well as
CPR techniques. We wish to thank Mr Adrian Vekic for organizing this for
the school. School
Hats PolicyWe
would like to remind parents that all students should wear the school cap
when outside at school. This includes when they are doing PE or playing
outside at break times and before and after school. This policy has been
implemented as a safety precaution due to potential damaging effects of
over exposure to the sun. If your child does not already have a school
cap, these are available at the school office. Swimming
caps for girls A
number of girls are experiencing some problems when swimming with their
long hair. We therefore request that parents either tie their hair back
properly on swimming days, or alternately supply them with a swimming cap.

Swimming
for secondary students On
Friday morning our secondary students go swimming. Please ensure that they
come to school on that day dressed in their P.E. kits with their swimming
costumes underneath. There
are several events that were initially schedules to occur this term, but have
been postponed for various reasons. Please find attached the updated Academic
Calendar. All
students in the Secondary Department (except for those sitting their IGCSE
examinations at this time) will be receiving their Grade Card to take home
next Tuesday, 5th November. (For
KIS families and friends) The
PTA is planning to hold the Christmas Ball on 12 December 2002. We shall
need to have at least 150 participants (including children above age of 3)
in order to hold this function. Please complete the attached survey and return
it to the school office by Friday 8 November.Next
