Dear Parents
This
week has been Book Week in the ELC and Primary school. The children have
been writing stories and poems, drawing illustrations, making bookmarks,
and reading and telling jokes. Today
the children dressed up as their favourite book character and participated
in a special Book Week assembly. This
week has been a fun and exciting week for the children, and the children
have produced some excellent work. (Miss
Johnstone)
Last week, Mr. Davies and Mr. White
spent two days visiting a school in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. White was seeking
information about running the Edexcel GCSE course that we hope to
introduce this September and Mr. Davies was looking into sixth form
management, career guidance and university entrance. Both returned with
many valuable insights and lots of useful ideas and resources. Welcome
back to Mr. Van Rjiswjik who returns today. He has been in England for the
last ten days to interview and recruit teachers.
Don’t forget tonight the PTA is
holding a Chinese New Year fund raising dinner at the Hyatt Hotel starting
at 7:00. There are many excellent prizes to be drawn as well as door
prizes for the best dressed. So please come along and support the
occasion. Many thanks to the PTA for all of their hard work in organizing

Last
Friday, was Beverly Wong’s last day at the school. Beverly has done sterling
work organising and maintaining the library. She will be moving to Singapore
to pursue a career in music. We wish her all the best. Grade
cards for all the secondary students go out today. Please sign them and return
them to school on Monday. Thank you.
On
February 20th and 21st several of our pupils
participated in the Likas Zone Sports Games.
These games were organized by SM Lok Yuk and held on their school
premises. Our students made an
excellent effort to compete in the athletics events.
These games offered our students a chance to compete with local
competitors. Great job to those
who participated in the events. We
look forward to being involved with more local competition events. (Ms
Dennis)
