Dear Parents

On behalf of the school I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday break and see you all back at school on Thursday 14th February.

Water Fountain / Table Tennis Table

There is a growing list of new items in and around the school. The latest equipment that you may have seen in the school this week are two table tennis tables and a water fountain that have been donated by the school PTA. These will prove to be very popular amongst the students.

Swedish Teacher Trainees

Next week the school will be visited by two teacher trainees from Sweden. They will spend a month in the school looking at our education system.

School PTA Annual General Meeting

The school PTA will be holding their AGM on 7th March.

School Annual General Meeting

The school AGM where the Board of Management is elected and the financial statement for the year is reported to the parent body will be held on 14th March.

Year 4&5 Museum Visit

The Year 4&5 class went on a visit to the museum as part of their history and geography topic on Kota Kinabalu. An enjoyable time was had by all and a lot of new facts about the development of Kota Kinabalu were discovered. I would like to thank Mrs Annuar Ghani for organising this visit and also thank those parents that assisted.

Talk By KK Police

Today the Year 8&9 met with Tuan Ravi from the Kota Kinabalu Police Department to discuss ‘Crime in the Community’. This is part of their geography topic at the present time. I would like to thank Tuan Ravi for his very informative visit.

Mr White & Mr Davies in KL

Next Thursday and Friday, Mr White and Mr Davies will be in Kuala Lumpur visiting the Alice Smith School. Mr White will be looking at the IGCSE Computer (ICT) programmes of study, as the school plans to introduce this subject to Year 10 in September. Mr Davies will be looking at their A Levels programmes in preparation for our own A Levels classes that we plan to introduce in the near future.

Mr V in UK

I will also be away from next Thursday to conduct interviews in UK.

Donation of Plants

I would like to thank Dr Lim for the donation of palm tree plants to the school. Our grounds are slowly beginning to look better due to the planting programme that is underway. Any families interested in donating plants and tress to the school would be greatly appreciated.
