Dear Parents

Yesterdays swimming gala proved to be a very enjoyable day for all concerned. It was impressive to see the sportsmanship and enthusiasm that was demonstrated by the students throughout the competition. There were some very impressive performances, and this bodes well for the FOBBISEA Games that we will be hosting in May.

I would like to thank Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club for allowing us to use their facilities. These same facilities will be used for the FOBISSEA Games, only on a larger scale.

Chinese New Year Dinner

A reminder that the PTA is organising a Chinese New Year Dinner on 22nd February. Tables (ten people) are available for RM1088.00 with “Yee Sang” and RM950.00 without. There has been a very good response to this initiative and tables are selling fast. Because there are only a limited number of tables, parents are encouraged to book theirs early.

Soccer Club : Tuesdays

All students involved in the Soccer Club are to meet in the car park area of the hostel opposite Likas Stadium at 3.00pm next week. Parents are to collect their child at 4.45pm.

FOBBISEA Swimming Club: Thursday

Students involved in the Swimming Club will meet at 3.00pm at the Sutera Harbour Marina pool by 3.00pm. Parents are to collect them by 5.00pm.

The School Hats Policy

As a result of concerns voiced by parents in recent weeks due to the increasing temperatures throughout the day, the Hats Policy has been reviewed. From now on it will be compulsory for all students to wear hats at break times, during PE lessons and at after school clubs.

This can be a hat of their own choice. The school is looking into designing a school hat that will be attractive for students to wear, but also practical in terms of the protection it will offer.

Parents are also advised to encourage their child to use sun block, particularly when playing outside.

School Annual General Meeting

The school AGM has been scheduled to be held on 13th March at 7.00pm in the school library. All parents are expected to participate in this important meeting and are therefore requested to keep this date free for this meeting.

New Playground Equipment

The ELC and lower school area has a new set of climbing frames for the younger students to play on. This has been kindly donated by Mr Tom Foster and DHI.

Staff Training

Next week, a visiting consultant will be leading staff training workshops with our staff. These workshops are designed to update staff on the National Curriculum Tests that our students will be participating in soon.

FOBISSEA Games: Secondary Department

Mr Dickinson will be leading a group of students to the Senior FOBISSEA Games in Penang. This is the first time our school will have sent a team to these games. They have already started training for this event.

Grade Cards: Monday

Grade Cards for the Secondary Department will be sent home on Monday next week.
