Dear Parents

I would like to welcome everyone back to school. We have a number of new families in the school and I would like to extend a very warm welcome to them. We have a very busy term ahead of us as can be seen by the attached Term Calendar.

Our school roll continues to grow and we now have 120 students in the whole school. Our Year 10 and 11 classes now have fifteen students between them. The decision to open these classes two years ago has proven to be a sound one and it has helped the school in its long-term stability. Similarly, our Early Learning class is now up to eighteen pupils. This growth is a reflection of improvements made in the class equipment and the hard work Mrs Henry has put into developing a sound classroom programme.

Secondary Department Orientation

The school will be holding a special meeting for parents of the Secondary Department to inform them about latest developments in the curriculum, particularly with a view to National Curriculum Tests and IGCSE. This meeting will be held in the school library on Tuesday 15th January at 6.30pm.

Car Parking

The new security system including the use of car stickers that the school has implemented has been well supported by all of the families and appears to be working well. I thank all parents for co-operating with this new system. If you have not yet obtained your car sticker from the school office, please do so.

Pied Piper Photos/Video

Next week is the last week to order photos for last term’s Pied Piper performance. The video recording of the performance is now available in the office at RM20.00 each.

After School Clubs: Parent Volunteers

The school is making every effort to provide a comprehensive range of after school clubs and activities for the students. To broaden the choice for the students, we seek the assistance of parent volunteers to lead a club. This can be in any area that an interested parent has an interest in. If you are willing to assist, please see Mr Dickinson.

The after school clubs will begin in week three. However, the Sabah Nature Club will be having an outdoor excursion next week.  Further details on this will be sent out on Monday.

Parent Volunteers for Swimming

We urgently need parent volunteers to assist with swimming lessons. If we are unable to provide enough adult supervision then we will have to cancel some of the swimming lessons. We particularly need parents to help with ELC and Reception to Year 3 classes.

Parent Computer Classes

Parent computer classes will begin next Tuesday from 8.00am – 9.00am. If you are interested in participating in this, please see Mr White.

Mandarin Classes

A reminder that today is the last day to enroll your children into these classes. Please note well that registration will not be entertained after today.
