"Wings"

If I had wings to soar above
To see this land people say they love
People starve each day it seems
And they can't fly to find their dreams
They find only hunger and dispair
And yet they pray to the man upstairs
They pray for food
They pray for things
They pray to god
They pray for wings
Well I dont have wings
And I can't fly
To some brand new world on high
But I can hope
And I can pray
That all beings on earth
Soon will say
Let's work for peace
Let's not ask why
And then mankind will surely fly
Above the strife
Above dispair
Above the men
Who cannot care
Above the devils down below
Then we will surely strike a blow
For love and justice in the world
And see a brand new flag unfuriled
