Plans have begun for the : 50's Friends 2nd Annual Fall Bash October 10-12, 2003 Atlanta, Georgia Since the last bash in April, in Asheville, NC, the planning committee for that bash has received numerous requests for a fall bash in the southeast area again.. Since the last fall bash was started as an annual event, and was such a huge success, we will try another one if there is sufficient interest. This year, since the bash would be closer to Halloween, a masquerade dance has been suggested and would be great fun..Costumes of course would be optional..How long has it been since you dressed down, looked funky and had a wonderful week-end with old and new friends? (Think of the great pictures that would produce)..To keep down the expense, we would ask those participating to design your own costumes and there would be a judging and prizes for the best male and female costumes., so get your creative thinking caps on and get busy..the more original the better.. Also, there will be a variety of special activities for the week-end and for the dance, just as before with the prior bashes.. Inquiries have already been made for proper locations, and special events going on in the area at that time for sightseeing and entertainment.. Before we put forth the effort in SECURING a hotel, ballroom, caterer, entertainment, and spend funds for expenses such as name tags, door prizes, and supplies, and for the bash to be cost effective, we will need to know there is enough interest to continue.. We will need the names of those wishing to attend as soon as possible..Once we have reached a reasonable number, we can go ahead with finalizing the plans, and send out an information flyer with all the needed details.. We expect the fee for the bash to be approximately $45-50 dollars per person for the expenses and supplies..The hotel/motel cost is estimated to be between $40-50 dollars per room per night (however, we have been told we may get rooms for less, if we get a large enough group confirmed).. The name of the hotel, rates, entertainment, activites, and all other needed information will be on the flyer to be sent out July 1st..also, there should be a web-site for the facility so you can view it on line.. Please respond to either Sidewinder111748, or myself as soon as possible so we can proceed or close this effort..
