Having been paired most often with Myo, their youngest, for the better part of three years, things changed when a new mission brought them to Necropolis. Still working on a previous side*project, Myo and Eric were left behind for a time, and Kisho and Reece were paired together. At first, it seemed like the defining trigger of World War III. Or perhaps the Apocalypse. But, somehow, things began to change. Reece began working through the scant, slender cracks in Kisho's armour. And Kisho slowly came to realize he'd encountered the impossible... the chance he might once again be falling in love.
Kisho & Reece Davis
Over a year's passing and many broken bones and nasty bruises have now found the two married, a fact they no longer keep guarded, despite Reece having already been used against the Euthanatos once. In fact, it was witnessing what he believed to be Balinese's death in an effort to break him that brought on his Awakening, violently and spectacularly, early Thanksgiving morning of 2003.

Having faced sadistic vampires, insane fae, infernal carnies, pissy garou, bizarre & twisted revenants and his own literal, physical death more times than he cares to count, Ki is still trying to muddle his way through his newfound powers and the means by which to survive in this most supernatural of all cities, without breaking again.

It is uncertain how much the higher*ups of Descrimen know about their agent's Awakening. Mau has sworn to keep it and his relationship with Balinese a secret. But how much can a Handler for a secret organization be trusted, anyway? And then there's Sphinx to wonder about. An older agent of Descrimen, he'd approached Abyssinian and revealed himself to likewise be a member of the Chakravanti. Though the Orphan Rep, Elfstone, has been there since the beginning for him, he's not been able to provide the new mage with Tradition*specific information. That's where Sphinx has come in, filling in the blanks for Ki, a bit at a time. Now known to the talented, young Knight of Radamanthys, however, he'd also eyeing him up and prepping him for possible induction into the Golden Chalice, should Kisho accept the invitation and pass the faction's rigorous initiation..

Accept he had, and succeed he did.

Suffering from a rare but potentially*fatal heart condition, Abyssinian has been relegated by Descrimen to sleeper status, along with the rest of his team... most of whom have since joined him at Infinity Chantry, Reece as his consor, and Eric [discovered to be a budding sorcerer] as a fellow custos to the Euthanatos. His sister, Ayoki, has also been released into his care, the twins reunited after 7 years apart.

Once holding down two jobs... one as a collegiate librarian and the other as an assistant currator to a local museum... Ki seeks to have a 'normal' life. Particularly now that he has been united with a daughter he'd never known he had, Meilin Thomkay, and he and Reece have a [Etherite created] son, Keitaro Gin Charles, to carry on their names. He's since given up the job as librarian, instead hoping to improve and give back to the community by providing decent, affordable housing to the homeless and destitute, as well as job training in his new company, Fushinban Security. In this way, he also hopes to be able to spend more time with the kids, giving them the support of a father he'd never had. His place at the museum, however, he retains... not only because he enjoys it, but because it leaves him in a place from which he might better assist his fellow magi, on occassion.

Reunion of the Twins

The poor family has not managed to escape regular turmoil, however hard they might try, though.

Reece has recently discovered a long*lost cousin amongst the ranks of the Etherites. Their Representative, Merry Talbot, to be exact. Apparently once an agent in her own right, she has been relieved of many of her memories. This hasn't stopped her from growing close to Kisho, Reece and their immediate new family, nor has it kept her from assisting them at many a rocky turn. In fact, it's Merry whos' managed to keep Kisho alive, thus far, his heart condition under some vague sense of control, thanks to her healing magicks.

Another long*lost family member has recently surfaced, as well... Kisho and Ayoki's unwitting father, a British Secret Service agent and consor himself to his eldest son, Celestial Chorister Ellory Michael McDurmeght. By some odd twisting of Fate, the McDurmeghts are cousins to Reece's late wife, Maria, and a reunion between them went poorly for all involved, the moment Kisho and patriarch Brian were introduced. Though managing to charm a good number of the chantry's denizens, Brian just can't seem to get past his youngest son's rage and pain, however.

Reece, himself, has found his personal life and world views turned upside*down, as well. But that's perhaps a story for another player, and another time...

how can you see into my eyes, like open doors
leading you down into my core
where I've become so numb
without a soul
my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home
frozen inside without your touch,
without your love, darling
only you are the life among the dead
[Chorus]
(wake me up) wake me up inside
(i can't wake up) wake me up inside
(save me) call my name and save me from the dark
(wake me up) bid my blood to run
(i can't wake up) before I come undone
(save me) save me from the nothing I've become
all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me
I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought, without a voice, without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
now that I know what I'm without,
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life

[Chorus]

bring me to life
I've been living a lie
there's nothing inside
bring me to life

bring me to life

[Chorus]

I've been living a lie
there's nothing inside
bring me to life
