(a) Emerson reveals significant points about what he thinks about education. First of all, he points out that the secret of education lies in respecting the pupil. Emerson emphasizes the importance of revering not only one another, but also the teachers and masters. He sees that free will is the most important factor of education. Furthermore, it means individuals have free will to express their opinions through their logics freely and learn what they have interest in. In conclusion, he is trying to emphasize the point that there should be ideal means to extract potentials from individuals and engage them. (b) The best-written paragraph is the fifth paragraph. In this paragraph, he reveals a splendid rhetorical device of examples by mentioning the explorer 'charles'. Emerson tries to convey how charles was excited by the discoveries he had made and how the excitement led to more learning. The device he has shown can be effectively used in my essays because I lack structure when I am writing. I will be able to provied sufficiently the causes-and-effects using Emerson's device to construct a formal essay that has an unbiased opinion. Furthermore, by increasing the stability of my structures, I will be able to write a more persuasive essay.
