Recycle Pick Events

Collecting litter from our streets...& recycling it

On 17 May Cally timebank held its first public event, a recycle-litter-pick event around Freightliners Farm and the Westbourne & Caledonian Estates Cally Recycle Pick. In 2 hours we collected 21 kilograms of litter from the streets. All of the recyclable material was separated, wieghed and taken to the recycling bins in Islington and Camden (there are no cardboard recycling facilities in the borough). Each participant was awarded with an energy efficient lightbulb.

We held our second event on Saturday 27 September 2003 in the Hilldrop & camden Road area. For details see our poster and leaflets. We collected about 200 cans and several kilograms of glass.
