A variety of specialty shops and restaurants are located at the Anchorage and The Cannery. Ghirardelli Square, once home to the world famous chocalate factory, has been renovated to an open-air center filled with specialty shops, international restaurants, an ice cream parlor and displays of the original chocolate-making machines.
Fisherman's Wharf is famous for it's Italian seafood restaurants with water-front views. Vendors along Jefferson Street sell Dungeness Crab from steaming cauldrons and walkaway seafood cocktails. Since 1849, the Boudin family has baked the original San Francisco sourdough bread; clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl is a signature San Francisco dish. |
