KIRK'S
MUSTANG
HOME PAGE

Welcome to my home page dedicated to the Ford Mustang. I have always admired this car but not until recently have l had the oportunity to be able to own one. The first Mustang l brought was back in 1996 which was a Mustang II V6 Ghia. After two happy years motoring l decided to progress onto something a little more powerfull so that's were my latest Mustang came into the picture a '65 289 coupe. read on to find out more about mine and some of my friends Mustang's

My MUSTANG II GHIA

Manufactued in Novemebr 1973 for export this was one of the first II's to be impoted into the UK. I came across this Mustang in 1996 buried beneath a pile of garage junk. It had not be used for a number of years and need some TLC to get it back onto the road.

I had to completly restore the  body work as the tin worm had been nibbling away at it.  Virtualy all the car was original so over a period of a year l replaced the wings and doors and bare metaled the paintwork and resprayed it in it's original colour a sky blue. The little Mustang is now back to it's former glory.

The Mustang ll after it had been restored, the early II's featured a longer front noise than the later models

MY RUDD SPEED MUSTANG

My mustang was built for export in early '65 and was imported into the Uk and converted to RHD by a company called Rudd Speed who specialised in converting American cars in the '60s.  When ordered my Mustang had many options specified like 'A' code 289, white pony delux interior, rally pack dash, disc brakes and dual exhaust. This spec has now become know as dealer GT.

The Mustang has been going through a rolling restoration which included new wings, doors and interior.

The 289 'A' code was rebuilt around 10 years ago and a number of perfomance parts were addad these include a Crane Cam, Elderbrok manafold, 600 holly and  Cyclone Headers.
