Un Voyage a Orleans!  (A Trip to Orleans!)
Project Profile:

An imaginary vacation in Orleans France with host families is scheduled during May.
(1) Upon arrival, students need to check the weather forecast to determine the best day to tour the city.
(2) To avoid requesting a guide, students converse by reviewing travel expressions.
(3) A virtual tour is then scheduled to enjoy the sites.
(4) Students remember that the holiday honoring St. Joan of Arc is celebrated the 2nd Sunday of May.  To more fully enjoy the celebration and parade, they research this famous French heroine.
(4) As a gesture of appreciation to their host families, they compose acrostic poems about Joan of Arc or one of the visited sites.
(5) Discussions about their vacation and a poetry reading conclude the activity.
