Baby Karen

Even big girls make mistakes
And get the most unfortunate breaks
As was the case of Karen here
About to shed a baby tear
It started as a joke you see
With her next door neighbour Emily
Emily thought it might be funny
If Karen played the baby, and she played Mummy
They made the costume, made the hat
And Karen had to sit like that
No sooner had the job been done
When Emily told her, "Suck your thumb!"
This she did and felt abashed
When suddenly a camera flashed
"Perfect!" squealed friend Emily
"What a nice sweet baby you will be!"
Karen was a bit confused
At how the picture might be used
"Simple!" said Emily wearing a frown
"I shall post them up all over town"
"No!" said Karen how she pleaded
Then Emily told her what she needed
Now every morning and evenings maybe
"You will be my little baby!"
All in pink and little white socks
Karen wears her baby frocks
Emily of course is now in charge
A baby future looms up large
As for Karen it's all on tape
And for "Diddums!" there is no escape!
