Julie Langner’s Home on the Internet
This is my first attempt at creating a Web site. I am very excited about learning HTML because I think it can be helpful to me in many ways. Some of the things I believe it will do for me are:
- make me more popular at parties
- increase my annuity
- present a positive image of my media center to the public
- bring me into 21st Century communications.
These are the steps needed to feel comfortable using
HTML:
- study effective, attractive media center Web pages
- review standard HTML tags used to create those Web
pages
- practice using those tags regularly.
The role of the librarian has changed with the infusion of
technology into education. There’s a new way of looking at
what we do:
- Library
- a traditional term for the “heart” of every school
- Media Center
- a term that reflects the diversity of materials now
available in the library
- Media Specialist
- a specialized teacher who has access to many sources
of information
