The Two Grapes.
24 February 2002

Green grape said to red, "Observe
My lustrous skin, my shine."
Red grape said to green, "If squashed,
You'd make exquisite wine."

Red grape said to green, "My depths
Are hidden from the eye."
"Why then, poor seedless thing," said green,
"You cannot help but lie."

The grapes fell off the vine, and soon
Were trampled in the mud.
Green's wat'ry juice reflected sky;
Red stained the earth with blood.
