Reminding me of distance March 20, 2003 Galliker protester interrupted class today During a presentation on bees I wanted him to stop As soon as his shaky voice began His speech was dizzying His effort heartfelt Maybe the protest will come to bloom But my stand is that any stand is convoluted She called last night out of nowhere Reminding me of distance How's your brother--Is he okay? Her tone suggested I should already be crying Protester invited students to the HUB But I'd rather stay in class Learning about bees and remembering the apple tree Where we used to play Remember? ...one side was yours, the other mine The neutral limb for speedy escape Imaginary adventures and the day I was stung Showing you how to catch a bee on a flower |
