Elaine hummed nervously as she dressed for her date with Dion. She could not believe that she was going out with the captain of the basketball team. She changed her clothes countless times before she finally settled an outfit she thought was just right. Just as she put the final touches to her makeup she heard a horn blow outside.

"See you later, Mommy" she called out as she headed for the door.

"Where are you meeting Dawn Lainie? her mom called.

"We're going to meet at the movies, mom, Elaine said guiltily. Her mom had told her she could only go on the date if Dawn was there also. Elaine hadn't spoken to Dawn since the day Dion had asked her out. She had lied to her mom about Dawn going out with them.

Elaine tried to appear confident as she walked out to Dion's car.

"Hi Dion, she said shyly as she slipped in the car.

"Hi gorgeous, Dion replied, looking her over. "I heard "Scary Movie" is good. Would you like to see it?

"Sounds good, Elaine smiled.

Elaine enjoyed her date with Dion. "He's not anything like they say he is, she thought to herself. The next day at school she was still thinking about her date with Dion when she saw Dawn coming towards her with and angry look on her face.

"Can we talk Elaine? Dawn said.

"I'm in a hurry Dawn", Elaine said. "Can it wait?"

"No it can't. How could you do that to me?"

"What are you talking about Dawn?" Elaine asked puzzled.

"How could you tell your Mom I was going out with you and Dion? You know I didn't want you to go out with him."

"Oh Dawn please chill out, its no big deal. I think you're just jealous because Dion asked me and not you. Besides he's not anything like you said he is."

Dawn turned and walked away depressed. She felt that she was not getting through to Elaine.

Elaine continued on her way, feeling as if her best friend just didn't understand.

We still don't know what Dawn want to talk to Elaine about.
Also will Dion cause their friendship to break up?
